Hey guys, I have posted a question about DAT scheduling earlier, but I am still very confused.

I see from some posts that DAT matter is not related to AADSAS (which is different from ADA) so that from the point when we complete DAT, the hard copy score will be arrived at schools within approxidately 3 weeks.

And, I felt like some posts mentioned, as we take DAT, ADA send the score to AADSAS, and AADSAS pile up everything (transcript, application, DAT score, LOR and etc.) and then finally send my application, including DAT score, to schools. Which means that in order to send my application in the first batch, my DAT score should first get to AADSAS for them to send my whole application materials. Is it so?

People say that the schools start reviewing the applications in mid-July (July 14~15). I assume that if my application and DAT score arrive before mid-July to schools, I will be included in the first batch. But, I was confused because I thought someone said, AADSAS doesn't send my application until they receive my DAT score as well. If DAT score is directly sent from ADA to schools (which takes about 3 weeks), and AADSAS will forward my application without any business of DAT score?

If so, does it mean that If I submit application on AADSAS, with all other transcripts, LOR and etc, exactly on June 1, and take DAT on mid-June, will my application would be reviewed as the first batch?

I think I am getting something wrong, so would please someone clearify this? Thank you.

Not exactly. You see, AADSAS can and will sent out your application to designated schools even without a DAT score (even without LORs). The problem is, when the application arrives at the schools, it will be considered incomplete until all materials are in (i.e LORs and official DAT score). From what I understand, and I think all schools follow this: schools don't look at incomplete applications, they only review completed apps.

I don't see how anyone can tell you this. We don't know when schools look at applications. Some schools might look at applications right after they get them, others might take a while to start reviewing them. As an example, Detroit Mercy doesn't start looking at new applications till like September-October period, after their first year class has started.

For this current application cycle, our first batch of applications was sent out on Friday, June 25th 2010. From that point on, they will send applications every Friday (so basically, once a week)....If you submit everything on June 1st, there are good chances your application will be send out in the 1st or 2nd batch, however, since DAT score won't be available, your application will arrive at schools and be held as "incomplete" until the official dat scores are in.

Normally, AADSAS needs 2-4 weeks for the official scores to arrive, once they arrive, they will forward your scores to the designated schools automatically.... You do however have to fill out the "DAT Score" section of AADSAS by supplying it with your DENTPIN and birthdate, everything else is handled by AADSAS electronically

So, I guess it is not that ADA directly sending score to schools without dealing with AADSAS. And, I understand that it takes 2-4 weeks for the score to arrive at AADSAS from ADA, but it is automatic (doesn't take time) to be sent to schools. Is it correct?

I was confused because we input the list of schools to receive my score before taking DAT. I thought ADA directly send each phyical copies to each schools.

I don't think its automatic. Like if the scores were received on Monday, AADSAS will wait till the next batch (usually every Friday) to send out new applications / modified applications.

It used to be that the ADEA sent out your official scores directly to schools (as long as you designate which schools)... but they changed that this year. Now, ADEA sends the official report (electronically) to AADSAS, and AADSAS distributes. You still have to select which schools to recieve your scores THROUGH ADEA WHEN YOU FIRST SIGN UP TO TAKE THE DAT
