Hello Dental Students,

This question is for students that have taken the boards. Amongst your peers, have you found that the one's that performed well on the DAT in the past performed well on the boards? Any correlation or does it completely depend on the individual?

Thoughts?

The ADA did a big study. If you make a 16 AA on the DAT you have an ~50% chance of failing NBDE. If you make an ~75% chance of passing NBDE. For each additional point it goes up some more.

But those stats are for te whole population of DAT & NBDE takers. Any given person can do whatever they want. You can make a 15 on the DAT and if you somehow get into DS and you work really, really, hard you can pass NBDE.
