I am taking my exam on August 12, 2014 and i am getting 18s and 17s on GC and OC Bootcamp. After I did the bootcamp tests, my confidence got shaken. What can I do?

What scores are you shooting for on the real thing? My bootcamp scores were generally two or more points lower on average than my actual dat scores. However, don't worry about what your scores are (even though I know it's hard not to) just learn from your mistakes and make sure you understand everything on each test and you'll be fine

30s on the chemistries

Well, when I first started bootcamp, about 2.5 weeks before my test I was scoring 17s and 18s. I felt a little depressed as well. However I just took notes on my mistakes and went over them. I got a 20 in orgo and 22 in gen chem even though I never scored that high for it.

Did you go through the Destroyer?

I did destroyer twice. Destroyer is overkill. However, I did feel like it helped me see what I was struggling in. However, If I were to do it again, I probably wouldn't do it twice. Instead, maybe get qvault and do some of their problems. The DAT has MUCH simpler problems.

melmu, I recommend that you scan the list of Chad's videos, and identify any topics for which you can't say, "wow that is the easiest topic in the world and I will never get a question wrong on it" on fastplay, while making notes on the basic concepts. Do the quizzes until they are extremely easy for you.

I took the DAT a few weeks ago (Gen Chem 26/Orgo Chem 26) and I found that Chad's videos and quizzes were definitely the best go-to review source. It's getting near your test date, but in my opinion once you have taken a few practice tests and gotten used to the feeling of the test, it's MUCH more important to review the topics that are giving you trouble.

Like I took 3 bootcamp tests and I realized that I was consistently dropping 3 questions each exam on developmental bio, which I knew nothing about. So I read through that Cliffs Bio chapter again and took amazing notes, and I'm pretty sure I never dropped a question developmental again.

My test is the 9th do you guys think it's too late? I already submitted my app beginning of July, just missing my DAT

Try other sources for learning and testing yourself. I found Kaplan and the destroyer to be very useful. Good luck. I'm sure you'll do wellwell
