DAT Bootcamp PAT Question?

I was trying to figure out the following TFE problem on the DAT Bootcamp PAT (it's test #1):

It says it's A, but I don't understand why it can't be B...if it were A, wouldn't there also be a dashed vertical line on the left of the top view to show the indentation in A from the hole?

The area which you ask about the dashed line in is precisely the area where the distinction on the shape comes from, since it is a cylinder, and has a hole which cuts off part of the end off as it passes through it creates the divot you see of the left side of answer a, while being absent in answer b
