Maybe this has been asked before but the scoring scale on DAT Bootcamp is confusing?

One section I got 27/30 on OChem and it said I would expect to get a 24. I retook the same test and got 29/30 and my score rose to a 25. So the only way to get a 30 is to not miss a question? Or is something off with the scoring scale.

I feel like I'm scoring ok on practice exams; do the scores reflect what I will receive or should I expect to receive a few points more or less on my actual DAT?

Thanks in Advanced!

Hey man. Based on what I remember, Bootcamp uses its own algorithm to determine/predict your actual scores. I would take that number that its giving you as a raw estimate of what you may actually get. It is fairly accurate. Keep going !!

The exam is scored based on difficulty. If you get a set of difficult problems you can miss more questions than if you get an easier test.

You may be able to miss 1 on the hard test and still get the 30, but if you miss one on the easier test you may only get 27.

Anyways, if you are getting those scores consistently on bootcamp, you should do pretty well on the DAT.

Thanks! That makes me feel a lot better. I have my test on the 18th and I'm a nervous wreck. I'm pretty sure my family thinks I've become Anti-Social since the semester ended about three weeks ago. lol

I pretty sure everyone has the exact same problems. I spent 7 weeks at my grandparents house studying for my test, haha. Just go in confident with what you've learned and you should do fine.

Bootcamp is pretty good at predicting. Some scores I got were really high. Some were low but I did fine on the exam.

They do point out the percentile you score in on the Bootcamp.

Use it as a guide not end all be all. If you are 20+ on everything especially PAT you'll be fine.
