DAT break time- can you divide up your 15 min?

do you HAVE to take the break after pat? can you take 5 min after each section instead of the whole 15 min altogether?

also, does the real dAT just go RIGHT INTO the next section or does it let you click something so you can catch your breath and stretch or something, especially b/t sci and pat. PAT matters so much so even 10 sec to clear my head before it woudl help but i dunno if its allowed?

No. You are allowed a 15 minute break after PAT but you cant divide it between sections. Each section starts after the other. The only "divider" between each section are the instructions but the timer keeps on going even during the instructions page so be familiar with what each section is about. Also, if you dont return within 15 minutes, then the test automatically starts. If you come back from your break early, you can click a button to resume the test and dive straight into RC.

so you can split it up? like take 5min before each section? how else do you divide it up b/t sections?

you cannot divide it up. It goes directly into the PAT right after the sciences woth no break, and you do not click anything. after the PAT you get a 15 minute break. THen you do reading and after reading it goes dirctly into QR without any break. THe 15 minute break cannot be split up.

If you finish a section early you can use that time to take a breath, other then that the 15 minutes after the PAT is all you get.

thanks that's really good to know! at least i know what to expect. i have such timing issues and dont' or barely finish the sections so i gotta get better and try to be like you all a little more and be able to at least catch my breath before PAT 🙂
