I took the DAT today and all I can say I am so glad to be done!!

Breakdown:
PAT- 21
QR-16
Reading- 24
Bio- 25
GC- 23
Orgo- 27
TS- 25
AA- 23

For the sciences, I would definitely use the DAT Destroyer! This is definitely the go-to book. I went through this book about 3 times. It has everything that you need to truly DESTROY this section. All the questions that showed up on my exam were very similar to the questions in this book.

My QR score is on the lower end. I should have studied for this section more. Didn’t have the time but the Math Destroyer really does cover every topic.

I’m a pretty quick reader and love to read so the Reading section wasn’t too bad for me. The questions were pretty straightforward and the Search and Destroy technique works well here.

As far as PAT goes, I used DAT Bootcamp. It is very representative of what the PAT sections looks like and prepares you well for this section.

Again, I cannot stress enough how good the Destroyer is. It is NOT overkill as some people have said. If you want to score well on the sciences, you really do need this book!

My DAT is coming up soon. I definitely won't have time to go through it 3x, but I'm trying to at least go through it twice. Your post is motivating 🙂

Hey, Im taking my test next week .. Did you take any practice tests? If so what did you get on them? For gen chem, were there a lot of calculations that you actually had to do? BTW AMAZING SCORES !!!!! I've gone through the destroyer twice and it will be three times by next week. Hope I do half as well as you did lol

I took the 2009 Exam. For the 2009 exam- I got PAT-22, QR-19, Reading-20, BIO-24, GC-25, Orgo-30. So my scores were very similar (minus the QR score).

As far as the GC section had a couple of calculations I had to do but wasn't anything too bad. Good luck on your exam!! 🙂

Great scores. Even with the 16 in QR, you still managed to get a 23AA. I doubt schools will hold that 16 against you. Have a great Holliday and celebrate your great scores!

Also when you were going through destroyer third time, were you still getting answers wrong? I find myself making ~3-5 mistakes per 30 questions sets.

my Dat is on same day!! and for me, yes I am still getting mistakes and thats freaking me out as well.. 🙁

Congrats! What sources do you recommend for Bio? I'm merely sticking to Destroyer, Cliff notes and the Kaplan book. But when I took the practice test at DAT bootcamp, I got destroyed 🙁

I'm so worried. If destroyer questions were representative of what you saw on the DAT... I will fail. The destroyer is so difficult. How should I go about using it? I have about 3 weeks to prepare.

I'm sure this has been said a million times and that someone will tell you this eventually, so I'll tell you now: the Destroyer is significantly harder than the actual DAT. Read the disclaimer on the first page. The important thing is to learn from your mistakes. The Destroyer aims to expose your weaknesses, not to evaluate you.
