DAT breakdown of my scores

I took the DAT a few days ago and I wanted to get an opinion on my scores.

PA: 20 (81.0)
Bio: 21 (95.5)
Gen Chem: 25 (98.9)
OChem: 23 (97.1)
TS:22 (98.3)
RC: 16 (22.6)
QR: 18 (86.6)
AA: 21 (97.2)

I have a decent GPA (oGPA: 3.50, sGPA 3.40) and i plan on applying next June. Iv heard of the 17 cutoff and was wondering if i should re take my DAT due to my low RC. I would really appreciate some help with this! thanks!

I would retake because of that RC score.

I agree and disagree. gdent's other scores are very good but that RC will hurt him (22.6 percentile). It's one of the most important numbers that adcoms look at because it is a very good predictor of board scores. He is not even applying until next cycle, which means there is plenty of time to study.

gdent: if you want to get some additional input, I suggest you call up some schools and ask what they think. I think they will suggest a retake.

I would also do what Froggbuster suggested and call in and check to your top schools of interest. Crappy situation man...your scores are beautiful but that 16 RC is a huge pimple. It's a tough call. I'd definitely check with the AdComs and see what they say. Best of luck with whatever you decide.

It think you are just fine. I've seen plenty of people with a 16RC get interviews and acceptances.

Do take that advice and call your top choices to make sure it won't be an issue though, that way you have time to retake if you must.

Coupled with your GPA, I think schools that prefer higher RC will look past it if the rest of your app is strong.
