Hey guys,

So I just finished my DAT for the second time and was wondering if anyone was able to clear up my confusion....

1st attempt in 2014 2nd attempt today
PAT 20 ---- 20
QR 17 ---- 19
RC 21 ---- 21
Bio 18 ---- 19
GC 20 ---- 19
OC 18 ---- 21
TS= 19 = 19
AA=19 =20

I know that TS isn't an average of the three sciences, and that bio is weighted more heavily than gc and oc, but I'm confused as to why my TS from today is a 19 and not a 20? If you multiply the three science scores by their percentage of the total 100 science questions for the first attempt you get 18.6 which makes sense that TS rounds to 19 but then for today's attempt doing the same thing I get 19.6 so I'm not sure why that wouldn't round to a 20. I'm not sure that this is even the way its calculated but regardless I don't see how they can both be the same......Is this weird or am I just over analyzing my score?

Hey man I had the same question when I took the DAT, my TS score was one point lower then what it would've been if rounded correctly. I think they do not take the EXACT average, I believe they have some sort of way of calculating it. I'm not sure what it is exactly though.

Yeah I feel you but if that was the case my first test should be representative of that too ya know?

The TS score takes into account all science questions to calculate a score based on how others performed on the same test. It is not based on your individual science scores. Atleast that what i thought

Hey, the TS scores are based out of the 100 questions for SNS and not the average of your scores unfortunately. If you look at the 2009 conversion scale you can see what I mean.
