Hey guys, i took my DAT this past Friday (Oct 09th), just thought i'd give some feedback and some advice (maybe someone will benefit from it)

First off my results,

BIO - 27
GC - 24
OC - 26
PAT - 25
RC - 20
QR - 19

TS - 25
AA - 23

So my main study material was the DAT Destroyer and for Math i used Math Destroyer. I kinda wish my QR score was higher but I had a computer issue during my test (the first 15 questions didn't take so i had to use the 10mins i had left for the difficult problems and redo the first 15 questions :\....that's life i guess)

My advice is just study hard and it will pay off and also if you think you messed up on a section just tell yourself that you did fine and stay positive! FYI I didn't time manage well on the test, for PAT I spent too long on angle ranking (my ONLY weak PAT section) and TFE for some reason (although during my studies, i always got these 100% correct EVERYTIME). I was left with 3 minutes for Pattern Folding and it turned out ok.

I also ran short on time for RC (10mins to do the last passage and questions) although the passages were interesting, i found that it wasn't the actual reading that took so much of my time but rather the questions stem and the choices. I HAD re-read them so many times, at least two of the choices seem to be saying the exact same thing, so i had to take a little more time decyphering between answer choices.

Don't be too afraid of the QR section, i have a decent math background (majored in Biomedical Engineering) but the DAT isn't calculus based it's High School math! But like I said the key is staying positive. Aside from feeling mentally drained and hungry and I had to take the ill-est piss and the computer isuue (mentioned above)...both my pens exploded and had to write carefully, by the time i was finished my fingers were covered in ink. I still got an ok score tho ...so STAY POSITIVE!

As far as study material:

Sciences: DAT Destroyer, Youtube and Feralis Bio notes

PAT: Bootcamp

Math: Math Destroyer

RC: Bootcamp and anything that's 10+ paragraphs long

Nice scores all around! Sorry to hear about your computer troubles, but that didnt seem to stop you

Great scores! how long did you actaully study for the Exam? Can you give us a little bit of your study break down. Also re you applying this cycle?

Thanks guys!

I am planning to apply this cycle however my app hasn't been submitted yet, so i don't think i have a good chance :\

I studied for about 2 months, for the first month all I did was science and math. Mon and Tues I did Orgo, Wed and Thurs I did GC and Fridays I did Bio. Sat and Sun I did math. In addition to those, EVERYDAY I did bio. I would spend about 2 hrs. dedicated to the questions in the DAT destroyer (there are like 560 questions) so I did 20 questions per night so by the 28th day I would have gone thru it once. If I came across something new to me (mostly it was the environmental, taxonomy and plants stuff) I would kinda review it then and there but mostly I would go thru new and old content on my dedicated Bio day. All the other bio stuff I kinda had a good handle and i know there are detailed videos on them so I didn't stress it.

I would go thru questions (all sections) 40 questions at a time, try to recreate the testing conditions. After I went thru all the questions for a particular subject (GC there's about 335, OC there's about 300, etc) I would start again from question 1. Go thru them twice and you'll be fine. The point of doing the questions is to figure out which topic you're weakest in and then do some content review. So if you finish your two rounds well before the 2 months are up, fill in the gaps will content review of your weak areas.

So that's about it for my schedule, after the second month started I slowly incorporated PAT and readings into my schedule. I kept the schedule pretty much the same except as soon as I got up I would read for 30 mins to and hr and the do some PAT and then move onto whatever was originally planned that day.

My advice is keep track of the questions you got wrong the first time around cuz after a while I started to feel like i was only doing the easy stuff over and over and that I wasn't learning anything new, because i wouldn't focus on the wrong ones i would redo the entire thing (40 questions at a time, repetition is key!). So make sure you keep track of the difficult/wrong ones and learn those topics well.

Good luck guys!
