Finally Done!!!
After all that studying, I’m very excited to be able to post my DAT breakdown:
PAT: 19
QR: 17
RC: 22
Bio: 22
GC: 22
OC: 23
TS: 22
AA: 21
Biology:
For this section I used the dat destroyer. The destroyer was spot on; it had very similar questions to the actual dat. The explanations for the questions in the destroyer were amazing and you should definitely read all of them as opposed to just reading the explanations for the questions you get wrong. I also used Campbell’s bio book to review the sections that I didn’t know well.
GC:
For this section I used the destroyer, the questions in the destroyer were much harder than the actual dat, so if you master this section in the destroyer you will do well on the actual dat.
OC:
I personally thought this was the easiest section; for the most part it was very basic organic chemistry questions. The destroyer covered everything you need to know for this section and if you understand all of the questions in the destroyer, you will do very well on the actual dat. For this section, I also used maitland jones’s orgo tb to go over the sections that I needed to review.
PAT:
For this section I used Crack DAT PAT, some of the sections were harder on the actual DAT than crack dat and some were easier. Overall the actual PAT was a little harder but my score was very close to my crack dat scores of which my average test score was a 20.
QR:
For this section, I used the dat destroyer and the math destroyer. The math destroyer was much harder than the actual dat, but it covers everything. This was by far my worst section. The timing was really the reason I did so poorly. I should have timed myself while taking the math destroyer tests. I would definitely advise that you skip the harder questions and then go back to them. I spent way too much time on the harder questions and I ended up having to just quickly guess on easy questions that I know I could’ve gotten right.
RC:
For this section I used Kaplan, it was an amazing resource for the reading section. I would just advise to read the passages very quickly.
Good luck to all of you! I’d be more than happy to answer any questions you might have.
