Let me start of by saying that my scores are no where near the 22+ that you see here on SDN. I wanted to post my scores because I know that there are people out there like me who read the break down threads religiously and dream about getting good scores. Trust me its POSSIBLE!!!
I'm going to give a brief overview of my background. I attend a state university. My major is biology, GPA 3.67 science 3.5. I do consider myself an average student. I procrastinate just as much as the next person! My general chemistry grades were 2.0 and a 3.0. This was the section I was most nervous for and put the most time into.
I enrolled in a Kaplan class at the beginning of May. I would HIGHLY recommend NOT to take the course! It had great resources, however it was nothing spectacular. It was a complete waste of MONEY and TIME! Other resources are much more cheaper and beneficial. Trust me don't be like me. I decided the course wasn't helping me so I stopped using it. The class is so fast paced, and they don't teach you the material. They teach you how to take the test, which in my opinion if you made it this far in college you should know how to take a test. I only did one full length and received horrible scores! I listed them in an excel sheet attached. I also have 4 full lengths left until August 11th if anyone is interested in buying them off of me for more practice!
GC:
I started with Chads videos. This really broke down every single concept. I followed up with his quizzes. I tried using Destroyer. I got through about 100 and decided that it was too hard for me. Some of the questions were so complicated that it didn't make sense for me to do them. I guess if you have time and want to strengthen your chem skills do them. I decided that it wasn't working for me so I decided to go through the subject test of Bootcamp and then did Chads quizzes in bulk. It worked out. Thank GOD! Chad's quizzes in my opinion were the best representation of the test.
OC:
I also watched Chads Videos for this and followed up with the quizzes. As you can see my OC score wasn't that great however it was above a 17 so I was happy! I was actually surprised because I loved my Orgo classes and received 4.0 in both. I did not put that much effort into studying this section so this score is very reflective of this. I would suggest doing Destroyer for Orgo just for the repetition. I went through bootcamps test for this and it helped.

This was so random. And honestly I don't know how I got this score. I spent the majority of yesterday going through all of Feralis notes. I saved Bio for last because that was my major. BAD MISTAKE! It was so stressful trying to solidify everything in the last few days before my test. I almost pushed my test date back because of this. Bootcamp was good for this section. The topics resembled the test.

Used math destroyer. It helped. However some of my questions were different than this. I skipped a lot of questions and still ended up with a 17. It is not great, however I am happy with it. I knew that I bombed this section. My advice for this section is if you don't know how to do the problem pick and answer and mark it. KEEP MOVING!! Don't get stuck on a hard problem because there are easier ones to answer later in the test.
PAT:
BOOTCAMP ALL THE WAYY! I started out getting 15's and worked my way up to an 19. My average was an 18. Bootcamp reflected my real score. I ran out of time at the end. So I am happy with this. Use the generators! They helped a lot with hole punching and angle. I had one weird figure for cube counting but that was about it. I struggled with TFE. I would recommend doing the section tests on bootcamp for this. I read in someones break down to visualize TFE like a 3D box. This really helped me.
RC:
I did 3 bootcamp test to get a feel of this section. I did my first passage search and destroy but realized I was too slow so I did the last two as S&D. It worked. But I would advise practicing this section after a long day of studying because I was worn out during this section. After the PAT during my break I went to the bathroom and splashed my face with water and gave myself a pep talk to get it together.
Overall I am relieved to be done! I saw my scores and almost screamed!! I almost pushed my test back another 4 weeks, however I start training for my job tomorrow and decided it would have been too much. Set a date and stick to it!! I studied for about 3 months total however did not get serious until that last month.
The biggest tip I can give is to BELIEVE in yourself!!!! If you put in the time there is no way you will do bad on this test! I was an emotional wreck the whole time leading up to my test, but a few days before I woke up and decided I wanted to get it done. Do not compare yourself to other people while studying for this test. I had a friend studying for it at the same time as me and felt horrible because I wasn't keeping up with her the way she was studying. My biggest advice is DO YOU! Do what works for you!! I'm going to go enjoy my night of not studying! If you have any questions please feel free to ask!!
