Bio 19 GC 20 OC 20 RC 18 QR 16 AA 19 TS 19
I took my DAT last week and thought I would share this with everyone else.
I know my grade is not as crazy as other people on sdn but I think its a fair one for the amount of time I put for this exam. I have been wanting to take my dat for so long and I wouldn't stay focused and consistent but one day I promised myself to get done with it in 4 weeks and never think about it again.
A little background about me... I'm an anthropology major, science GPA 3.3 BCP 3.2 Overall 3.7.... Nothing really crazy!
First of all, shoutout to Ari for his amazing work! Bootcamp is a life saver <3 I went through it 2 times.
I have been wanting to take this test for so long but I'm such a last minute person and a big time crammer so I had to study for 4 weeks 10 hours a day
For bio, I went over AP bio once, then studied my friends condensed notes on destroyer, bootcamp, topscore a couple days before the exam.
For Gchem and Ochem, I went over destroyer 3 times and each time I would only do the highlighted problems that I have missed and make some flash cards on formulas, trends or reactions... I had almost 60 flashcards by the end the review and knew them by heart.
I know I could have done way better in GChem since I have been scoring 25's on bootcamp and 20's on Ochem but I was really stressed and could not stay focused during the exam. So number one advice, TAKE A DEEP BREATH AND BELIVE IN YOURSELF!
RC was my biggest concern since english is my second language and I was getting less than 15's on bootcamp but I tried S&D on the real exam and seems like it worked for me. I only did bootcamp and 5 reading test from crack dat reading.
For PAT--> If you practice bootcamp tests and generators, you can master this section. I only did a first few tests on bc and was confident during the real exam.
QR is my lowest score because by the time I was doing QR, I was exhausted probably because I didn't get enough sleep the night before the exam. I used to be a math tutor and took so many calculus classes but I was really tired and thought I was not doing well during the exam... so by the time I reached to QR, I wanted to finish my test. I was getting 21s and 22s on BC ...
I hope I don't need to retake this test again...Applied to 20 schools... hope everything goes well....
Overall , DAT is not a monster... Hard work , consistency and positivity is the key ! Good luck everyone <3
