It has been quite sometime since I have last posted however, I would like to share with everyone what my breakdown was and what I used to obtain my success.

PAT: 22
QR: 17
RC: 20
Bio: 24
Gchem: 21
Orgo: 23
TS: 23
AA: 21

I will start off by saying that there is not just one source that can be used. You must learn the information first and then have a proper tool to apply your knowledge before your exam.

Before I breakdown each section, I will list all the materials I used:
Kaplan Blue book, Destroyer (MUST HAVE), Topscore, Crack the Dat PAT, Exam Cracker for Mcat RC, Destroyer Math!!!

Bio: I made sure I read the entire Kaplan Blue Book bio section several times while taking notes. Continuously reviewing material that might be somewhat less familiar to me than other things I was more confident with.

G Chem: I used a textbook from college to make sure I knew all the necessary formulas and concepts.

Orgo: Used notes from college and note cards to make sure I knew all the necessary reactions.

RC: exam cracker book needed to be used on a daily basis. Make sure you time yourself efficiently and used the necessary technique. This section is very individual bc every person reads at a different speed and understands at a different capacity.

QR: learned all the formulas and practiced Destroyer Math. The real exam is giving everyone difficulty because there seems to be a lot of word problems. The best approach to this section seems to be practice on a consecutive basis.

PAT: CDP 10 pack. As well topscore PAT is good for confidence building and timing strategies.

Once I established a strong foundation on my own with the sciences i needed to learn and pinpoint what exactly the DAT wants.
My opinion is that the Destroyer sums up all the necessary sciences. You need to use this book as a tool rather than just for practice tests. You need to understand all the correct answers and why the wrong answers are wrong, use the explanations in the back of every section!

Use topscore to practice timing and maybe learning the material you think you might not know from your wrong answers. I felt that the questions were a bit too detailed compared to the actual DAT.

Thank you to SDN because without this website I would not have known to use the necessary materials to take my exam. 🙂
