hey everyone, for those of you who have taken the DAT, how is the calculator? is it like the one on the iphone, is it scientific, like can we calculate the square root of a number?

Its nealry identical to the basic calculator application (most simple functions) provided by windows. Also if you have tested out CDP's math section, its like calculator.

But while we are on the topic of DAT specifics. I just got an email regarding my upcoming DAT and they told me that they are transitioning their dry erase boards / markers to these new and improved markers or something and they these new markers don't erase so you have to get a brand new board everytime...

Is it just me, or would that make you nervous in terms of time it takes to switch boards? Because I use up my scratch paper real quickly so I know i'll be needing replacements. Anyone know how it works exactly?

You get two boards, and each has a front and a back. I used 1 side for PAT, and 3 for sciences (you really shouldn't need more). You could switch the boards at the half. If you are really pressed for time and don't want to walk out and get another one, you can use a little bit of saliva (i know this sounds gross), and wipe off the ink, but i doubt you'll have too.
