So I figured I would seek the guidance of some other members on this issue. So I have completed my application about the middle of June but haven't really gotten around to start studying much for the DAT. I was originally scheduled to take the DAT in early July but kind of got sidetracked and will now be rescheduling again for late August, early September. My question is whether or not this is too late to take the DAT considering I got my application in relatively early. I've just never knew how this worked. When they review my application and see I have yet to take the DAT will my application simply be dismissed or do they factor my scores in another time. Forgive my ignorance 😳 Thanks for the help

Your application will be put on hold until they get the scores. Late August/September is kind of late. They can reject you before your dat scores arrive if your GPA is really low, but they can't give you an interview unless they see your dat.

Even if you say take it Aug 30. Then it takes the ada like 2-3 weeks for your scores to be sent to aadsas. Then aadsas updates your application and the schools can finally see it. So the middle to the end of September they get your completed application?

how can they reject you if they dont even see your completed application until your DAT scores are in? They wont look at an incomplete application until the DAT scores are in. You e submit your aadsas application so it can be processed which takes a few weeks, thats why people submit before they take the DAT......i feel like alot of people submit before they take their DAT. i dont get what youre saying. and alot of people also take the DAT in august and get accepted to dental school

also it depends on the school. usually if youre applying to an ivy league, if you look at their supplemental they require you to submit your DAT score at the same time you submit your AADSAS application as it says in the supplemental portion of that particular school youre applying to. You check this info when you add certain schools to your online application, you go to supplmental and you see what exactly each school requires. You can call the admissions people if youre confused about what they want and when they want it. thats what i did
