I'm planning to apply to dental school this coming cycle (as soon as the application opens) and I was wondering if it would be too late to take my DAT's in August? I was planning to take them in July but would postponing it 2 weeks affect my chances of getting acceptance?

Take them as early as possible. I was thinking July this past cycle too, but I forced myself to go on the internet and select June 10th and work towards that date instead. At first I was very scared and thought it was impossible, but then I realized I put it into the proverbial 5th gear and prepared on time.

how long did you take to study then? i haven't started studying yet bc i'm taking 18 credits this semester. what score did you achieve?

Take it as early as possible. You can still get in if you take it in August but you'll miss out on getting accepted to some schools, I would take it in June and apply ASAP.
