i was thinking of taking the DAT the 8th is this a late date or should i take it earlier. i need your opinion because i want my app to still be early thx!!

I'm wondering the same thing. Although you get the score right after the test, I heard it takes up to 4 weeks for schools to receive it meaning they won't review your application until ~August 8th. Can anyone speak to this?

I took my DAT on 7/18, everything else prior was ready. The earliest date that I received an "Application Complete" email was on 8/8. So it took them 3-weeks to move my application from the incomplete pile to the complete/under-review pile. Then I received and scheduled an interview date for mid-September. So it took another 3-weeks for VCU and NYU to review my application and decide whether or not to invite me for an interview.

I think it's fine, it takes a while for your ap to be processed (submit your ap right away, but take DAT later) and a few schools will let you send them a copy of your score report. If it means getting a higher score it is definitely worth it.
