it's finally over. I leeched off this site for long enough, now it's my turn to contribute

overall: i'm pleased with my scores. i studied for 10 weeks, starting the weekend after school ended in may. this last week i spent trying not to forget my science material and finished Math Destroyer/Bootcamp PAT. this may be too long for some, but it wasn't for me because i put off math and PAT for the last 3 weeks. i studied diligently about 6 hours a day including weekends. i followed the SDN Schedule on the front page for about 3-4 weeks? (up until destroyer is finished the first time around), although I didn't follow any of the QR and Reading on that schedule. I then supplemented by doing practice tests, and watching chad's over, and over, and over, and over again.
bio: destroyer, cliffs, barrons, datqvault, datbootcamp
my testing experience for biology was...surprising. the topics that I felt were FOR SURE to show up on the test were absent. still, the material is so broad that you must master each and every topic as laid out by the ADA in their guidebook. I used their biology outline as a template, and when I started studying I would check off each section as I went through each unit. do not overlook anything in cliffs or barrons EXCEPT for the plants chapter. you need to know everything in that book to get at least a 20. i did destroyer 3 times, the third being spread out in 30 questions per day over the final week and a half before my test. this was very helpful in ingraining facts into my memory. datqvault and datbootcamp were very, very helpful. you need to do these practice tests. my actual score was higher than any of my practice scores for bio, which says that you should use these tests not only as practice tests, but also as study material. they both provide good explanations, but datbootcamp has the edge in quality and distribution of the questions/explanations.
gen chem: chad's, destroyer, qvault, datbootcamp
felt I could have done better, oh well. i cannot stress enough that you need to watch chad's videos multiple times. i took gen chem two years ago, and when i first started taking notes on chad's videos, they were cursory because the material was not so familiar. get destroyer- it IS overkill, but do it multiple times and you will master gen chem. did i mention chads? you need to know everything he says, even the details. QVault Gen Chem has a lot of strange problems and is repetitive, but a couple of those strange problems had a close semblance to test questions. DATbootcamp is a very good representation of the actual test.
orgo: chad's, destroyer, datbootcamp
pretty basic, destroyer is overkill, but you should do it multiple times. a few questions that came up often on destroyer ended up on my test.
reading: i bought CDR before I started studying because the schedule I used had benchmark reading tests. but i didn't follow the reading schedule I did the first two tests consecutively around week 3 or 4 and got 20 and 21, just so I could be familiar with the format. but i didnt do anything else. strategy: read the passage carefully, take brief notes on each paragraph; then tackle the questions.
QR: math destroyer, chads
i didnt follow dentalworks schedule for this either. I also never time myself or did any practice tests...I was just so scared of math. I'm not sure how I got 21 (94 percentile) because I felt like this was my weakest section throughout my entire studies. i did math destroyer, tests 1-8, two times through. this is all you need to do. i knew basic trig, but none of the complicated trig identities, so i guessed on the one problem I got which involved it. But destroyer tells you what you should know and how to do it. test strategy: i went through every problem quickly. i had about 6-7 marked at the end which I guessed on initially. with the left over time I had (~15 minutes), i just plugged and chugged each answer into the question
PAT: CDP(eons ago), DAT bootcamp
i bought CDP like two years ago when I first started science courses. i did them all back in the day, but I bought a new computer and didn't feel like buying CDP again. DAT bootcamp's PAT is on par with the difficulty of the real thing. from what I remember, CDP is much easier. DAT bootcamp also has great explanations. doing CDP two years ago put my at an odd position which caused me to put off PAT until the last two weeks. I would suggest investing more time in PAT by getting both bootcamp and achiever.
