Which of the following ions has the largest radius?
S2- F- Ne K+ Ca2+
Answer is S2-. Dr. Romano said to go by negative charges. One with most negative charge has largest ionic radius.
This was weird to me because I remember in Chad's Videos that he said in an isoelectronic series, the atom with the least protons will have the largest ionic radius because it has the smallest Zeff and pulls e- in the least.
F- has the least protons of them all...if I go by Chad's logic, then it should have the largest ionic radius, right?
Confused 😕...
