Hey Everyone, For those of you who have taken the DAT or are about to take it, how did you utilize the DAT destroyer? I'm going through it right now, and it is extremely discouraging. I am only getting around 66-70% for bio and orgo and 50% on Gen Chem.

Wow, you are doing better than must students who contact me. Don't worry so much about what you are getting wrong, it's better you find out while studying what you don't know now, than to discover a deficiency on test day. Learn from your mistakes and move on.

In our classroom setting we do ALL the work in the Destroyer with our students. But before we even attempt the DAT Destroyer we do an extensive Orgo, GC and Bio Review.

The DAT Destroyer is not to be used for timing, but learning. Most students do not love the Destroyer until after they take the DAT. If you want high DAT scores it is mandatory you get through ALL of the DAT Destroyer. Know the Destroyer COLD!

Wishing you the best..

Take care..Nancy

To add onto what Nancy said, the destroyer is much like learning how to ride a bike. You'll fall a million times, but try and try again and you'll succeed. Someone on SDN told me to use the destroyer like a bible. So I did, I wrote notes in it, underlined, grilled every answer/answer choice until I understood why. Then one day, I got the hang of it.

I also went through it around 3 times very carefully, noting which answers I frequently got wrong, even though I knew the answer 2 weeks ago (you'd be surprised at what you forget). Then I made a list of all the questions that I got wrong and polished off those ones specifically

Needless to say, I was improved on my second DAT
