Hello all,

I am taking the DAT in a few days and am using Destroyer biology. I was wondering if it is sufficient for the biology section on the DAT? i am freaking out. I read Cliffs and also have qvault biology and bot been doing as well as I wanted to on them. I am so sad 🙁.

Hey just an advice to stay confident! For me, i first read campbell's accompaniment guide and used the textbook as a reference. I also used alot of google/wikipedia if i wanted to clarify some things. I started doing Destroyer but i only did about 200 of the bio problems out of 453. Nonetheless, i think destroyer definitely prepared me well for the real thing (i got 23 in bio)! I also did some of topscore, but didnt finish that either. On test day, i was worried that i didnt wasnt ready but i stayed confident and got through it pretty smoothly! If i had done all the problems and read all the answers, i think i would've done better too! Not that i'm not thankful for my score tho 🙂.

I think cliff's notes is all you need. Destroyer is a killer.

Cliffs> destroyer If you are really nervous. 90% of your questions on DAT could be looked up in cliffs but 10% will be those little tricky ones that only destroyer has. If you know cliffs well than be confident (you will do well) and use destroyer as a tool to learn the trick questions if not, keep reviewing and reading cliffs because it is a great resource. That's just my 2cents

For me, Destroyer Bio was just annoying. Practically every question's answer is "all of the above," which was pretty easy to pick up on after about the third page. Cliffs AP and Barron's AP covered everything I needed.

Destroyer bio saved me on about 4-5 questions on the DAT that were very similar. Its good that you read over Cliffs though. I would at least skim through the questions and answer choices if I were you. You just never know.

It's ok to be getting questions wrong (that's how you learn) - just make sure you keep track of them, learn from them, and supplement your weak topics.

Agree with this guy.

My practice scores on qvault were not good and destroyer sucked. This is all because nothing seems to connect.

But today, I went over qvault a second time, and right now I'm on #130 or so on destroyer, and I gotta say, it's pretty nice to see how everything connects, especially with those "Which of the following is true?" questions containing "All of the above" answers. I'd go through each answer and mentally tell myself why it's not true, so then it effectively ends up as answering the question correctly while reviewing 4 other concepts.

A good way to make sure you're actually learning is by using Anki flashcards. Every time you miss a question or if you even just see something that confuses you, put down whatever you feel is necessary on the flashcards. It makes you sleep better to know that when you wake up in the morning and your memory is foggy, you have all of it on Anki.

Put on some trance music and focus! At this rate, I'm going through like 100 questions in an hour, it's an amazing confidence booster. You'll get there in no time.
