I am pretty confused with this question, I hope someone can break this down correctly for me 🙂
I got that the POH was = 5 ....thus 5 -14 means that the PH is 9.
What I dont understand is how to read this chart lol ? I got the hardest part correct but now I am lost as to how to use this number PH=9 with the chart to find the answer ?
So we found that this aq. Solutions PH is 9.
1) Which section of the chart am I supposed to be looking at and why ? is it the protonated colors or the de-protonated colors ?
2) How do I use the charts PKa numbers to guide me ? I found the PH but PKa is only really important if we are dealing with buffers at the correct ratios or titrations when we are told we are at the eq. point because then I could assume that the PH=PKa and then go on from there. But here I am not told any of that, so I dont know how a PKa number could be helpful ?
