i just took my DAT yesterday and I am pleased with my score. My TS 20, AA 19, but my PAT is only 16

I used lots of books to study my DAT, one and the only best tool is DAT Destroyer (DD)....DR Romano and Nancy, they are amazing people...They are always there for their students....

Dr Romano is extremely helpful. Let me put it this way, sometime he missed my call, but he is willing to sacrifice his an hour break just to return my call and answer my questions. It means a lot to me and give me motivation to study more. Furthermore, Dr Romano helped me to review every Science sections before test day so that i don't get any surprises questions...😍 😍 😍

Therefore, get the Destroyer...you won't regret like everyone says in SDN.🙂

There is no way to explain how awesome the destroyer is...After studying for the DAT for the past 4 months, I never felt truly prepared for the DAT w/ just topscore and achiever....So I just went on a gut feeling and bought the Destroyer...Best Decision EVER.

But now my DAT is in 3 days and after reviewing the destroyer for the past month I never thought that I could have imagined how confident that I feel in Bio, G-chem, and O-chem...

Bottom Line: If you don't have it, Get it..

i definately dont work for dr romano,i used destroyer two weeks before my test and ended up with a pretty jawesome score. its the best 150 youll ever spend,seriously. www.orgoman.com

that is completely understandable that you feel that way. i think everyone feels that way when there is a new product that hasn't gotten as big as other companies have. i used it to study with over the summer and my scores were super 👍 . i don't think i have to elaborate since there are plenty of posts by many many people about what a great study aid the destroyer is. just punch it into the search. -- you'll see people ask the same question you asked too.

btw, nancy is super sweet. 🙂

To OP: CONGRATs. depending on which schools you've applied to, PAT may not be an issue at all. i'm not sure which thought =/

Hi, I don't work for Dr Romano. I know DAT Destroyer (DD) from SDN. My honest opinion is Get the DD, like amsie said, it's the BESSSSST $150 you'll ever spend!! In fact, it is the BEST tool to prepare for ur DAT. It has all the Science sections and QR too. You definitely need it!! Furthermore, once u get DD, call them anytime if you have any Qs...they are always there for their students!!👍 👍

i don't work for them. they would owe many ppl money if that is true. if you check back with older posts...you'll see some of these ppl orignally were skeptical about it as was I, who later decided jsut for the heck and order it...glad i did that. One thing though, I asked Nancy some time ago and asked her if ppl who bought used stuff can call in for support, she said nope...so something to consider when buying used or new if you are seeking live phone 1 on 1 support.

All the talk regarding how great DAT Destroyer is, I just ordered it right now. I hope it lives up to the hype. I may have to extend my DAT to 3 weeks from now so I can solidify what I've learned from Kaplan's blue book, TopScore, and now, DAT Destroyer.

also not a romano bot...in fact, I have been fairly anti Dr. Romano in the past because I can't stand the 5 > posters who create huge posts in new threads lavishing praise on him and destroyer, but I will say this.

My friend just got destroyer and the questions and explanations are good study aids. They aren't some kind of golden key to the DAT, but if you learn the material in the books, I think anyone could do pretty good. ALso it hits a few things the Kaplan book leaves out...especially the QR stuff on permutations and probability.

My friend also had some problems with the shipment, and called Nancy or whoever that woman is and she got a response back less than an hour after leaving a message and Nancy rechecked everything and then resent it all to my friend. She even called a few days later to make sure it had arrived.

Anyway, my friend hasn't taken the test yet, but I thought I'd throw this in to the mix. I still don't like the people who only post once on SDN with a ten page ad for Dr. Romano, but his stuff isn't too bad.

werd...i got the book 5 days before my exam and it did wonders. kinda made me wish i hadn't blown so much money on all those other prep books, most of which weren't even a half as useful as the DD...

Just call Dr. Romano yourself...he totally will call back!!! I was totally impressed and I haven't even purchased DAT Destroyer. He took time out of his personal life and called me at like, 10:30 at night CST, which for an old fogey like me, that is the middle of the nite! We talked about 15 minutes and he is someone that knows what is going on with the DAT and MCAT. He took more time to advise and counsel me than most college pre-health professions would ever do...and that call was FREE.

When it is time for the big review/crunch for DAT...I am so going to use Destroyer.👍

Is it really that great? because I was looking at some of the practice problems and they dont seem too similar to dat practice problems. i am most likely going to order it though. i really hope it helps. do you think 1 week is long enough to do all the problems in the destroyer?

I found out about destroyer on this site, and have been studying for the DAT for the last month. I take it this Saturday. Dr. Romano is an absolute genius. He called me last night at midnight to go over biology questions that I had. This is my second year applying, and I feel that destroyer is the best investment that anyone taking this test can make. (I have used Kaplan, taken the course, Top Score and Achiever (good for PAT)) There is absolutely no reason why everyone on here shouldn’t have destroyer.

Dude,
The DAT is full of tricks, and Destroyer prepares you for most of the tricks that will be thrown at you. Honestly, just purchase the book, I would pay more than $150 for it.

I too am looking for a good study aid.Do you have a GPA lower than 2.5?Are you a non-traditional student? Did you do not so well in Organic Chemistry in college? If you have answered yes to any of these questions, then the Destroyer is not for you. It is only for those students that have a GPA of 3.0 and above and already a very good understanding of the basic concepts of the sciences such as Organic Chemistry, Biology, and Chemistry. I am sure the Destroyer is a good study tool if you are up to speed on your sciences. Check into this to see if it is good for you. Disclaimer: I have nothing against the Destroyer.

I totally would have to agree with you on the Destroyer. I got mine after I read about it on SDN, and I must say it was worth every single penny. I know it costs a lot but that includes Dr. Romano calling you and helping you. You are basically getting a tutor out of what you are paying. Dr. Romano and Nancy are completely there to help you succeed and do well. I was flabergasted at the dedication they put into for their students and their eagerness for you to "destroy" the DATs. I purchased the Destroyer about a week and a half before taking my DATs, and I believed it was solely (along with the will of God) from studying from the DAT Destroyer that I was able to do well on the actual DAT. Also, I took the DAT during midterms and was still able to increase my Bio and Chem scores to 5 points!!!! I do not work for Dr. Romano, I am only here to help you guys out - BUY IT! you will not be disappointed.

What's with the jab at non-traditional students? Why would that have anything to do if destroyer can help you? Are you assuming non-trads have don't have a good unerstanding of the basic concepts?

I am a non-traditional student myself. I do not have any beef with that. I am just letting this guy know that I was informed that this may not be for student who do not have a good understanding of the basic sciences. This is a site to help inform others about what may be good for studying for the DAT and other helpful tips. I spoke with the nice people at Destroyer because I was going to buy it myself. They were very helpful at letting me know that it may not be for me because of that. So, I decided not to buy it because I figured they know their product better than I do. I am currently studying for the DAT myself. Did you buy the Destroyer EX_EE? Since you are non-traditional as myself,was it helpful?

Actually I didn't buy it. I didn't know it existed until after the test. I just used the Kaplan blue book. My opinion is that if you don't have a good understanding of the basics no study guide is going to help. The Kaplan blue book was a review of at least three or four different bio classes in 180 pages. If you didn't know it before then you aren't going to learn it in a study guide.

Let me get this straight. Not only are Dr. Romano and Nancy available for councel on problems at most any time, but they keep a list of students (with respective phone numbers) and call them to check they are ready before they take the DAT?

Like rr, I am not a Bio/Chem. traditional student. I returned to school to take the requirements for dental school. I still have not purchased the DD because of my financial situation, but as soon as my rent is paid, I will purchase it. I do believe that one can learn the basics from these review books such as Kaplan. Some books may be better than others, but it can be done. A good friend of mine took the DAT and scored a perfect score in O-chem. and killed the DAT in every sections without having the basics from the classroom environment. She studied her brains out because she knew she was coming from a disadvantaged corner. That being said, I believe it all depends on the individual and their study habits. I hope that non-traditional students reading this aren't discouraged. Hope this helps.

Hi. I am taking my DAT mid November and feel good like I am in mid air with stydying. When I took the ADA practice test, I thought it was really easy.... I also have been reviewing Kaplan and Barron's DAT book. Anyone have anything to say about the Barron's DAT review book? Are the practice tests anything like the real DAT? Help! I just bought Destroyer and finished the Bio section yesterday. it is awesome!
