I am in my final month of studying. I have reviewed all the material (Cliff's; Chad's etc.) last month. I felt good about my knowledge, especially Org. Chem and Gen. Chem. I was a chemistry major in college and recent retook both Gen Chem and Org. Chem because it has been too long and some schools have a cutoff for pre-reqs. I got the highest grade in all of my chemistry classes I retook and even scored in the 99percentile of both ACS General Chemistry finals.

However, Destroyer is destroying my confidence level. I am consistently getting no more than 50-60% right my first time through organic and general chemistry. I am literally losing sleep over this! Is this the norm for other people. Is the actual DAT this bad?

I wonder how many times this same question can be asked in less than one week. Use the search function. it is ABSOLUTELY normal and the DAT Destroyer is not representative of DAT questions, it is designed to reinforce basic concepts and make sure you really KNOW the material.

Don't let it kill your confidence. This is the norm and your actually doing better than most people for the first time around. Many will tell you tell get like 25-30% right maybe 40% right the first time around. So for you to get 50-60% right first time around is very good. I'll tell you from experience because I already took the exam and Destroyer killed me confidence as well the first time around. Don't lose sleep, stay focused and your going to be fine.

Do not worry so much. Think positive. It is a good thing that you discovered what you do not know now, rather than during the exam. Just focus on Destroyer solutions of the question you answered wrong. Maybe review those topics again. It will help you.
