Hi Guys,

I'm thinking about purchasing DAT Destroyer, but I'm not really sure what it is. Is it like the Kaplan Blue Book with text on the information you have to know..or practice questions and explanations? Also, should I get DAT destroyer alone or along with Math Destroyer and Organic Odyssey?

Thanks for all of your feedback!

if your DAT is sept 16th and plan on gettin destroyer get it soon so you can review it a couple times

The book is alright if you need more practice but it's way too expensive if you ask me.

You can get other practice material for way cheaper....

For example, the ACS chemistry and organic chemistry guides (in my opinion better than the destroyer chemistry sections) are 20 bucks each.

You can also pick up AP Biology guides for under 20 bucks and they come with practice questions.

If you can get it for cheap used go for it or if money isn't an issue by all means knock yourself out.

I think it is definitely worth the money if you learn best from trying to answer questions and using their solution to learn the material. That is how Destroyer works, it gets you prepared to narrow down answer choices and teaches you the material. It is not meant to be a practice test, but instead a way to learn the material through questions. It goes into quite a bit of detail in some areas that may be too much but it is great IMO.

I would suggest getting a used copy for ~100 dollars. Since you might not have too much time to study it since you are taking your test soon, honestly, you could probably get a 2008 one for maybe ~75. Look at the selling section of the forums, thats where I bought mine. I would definitely say it is worth it though.

Thanks for all of the input guys. Is there a significant difference between the '08 and the '09 destroyer? And I'm guessing I don't really need O-chem Odyssey and math destroyer since I'm already going over with Kaplan?
