So many of these new members also advertise against all other prep courses/materials. Sounds fishy!!!
I have yet to see that, unless they are truly crappy materials. They do advertise for the Destroyer, but that is as far as it goes normally.
I was an original basher and I've cooled off. I was getting tired of the plugs, but it seems that it really is good material. I am going to get it and give a review on all of the materials I have purchased.
Is Dr. R. giving DAT DESTROYER for free? If he is you are right. If he isn't people can simply go to libraries and bookstores to take a look at so many books and tests written by experts in their respective fields
Actually, what I believe you said "isn't that the best and cheapest way to study?"
For the first question, the answer would be no.
For the second question, the answer would be yes.
It is definately the cheapest. But if you are looking at spending thousands on application fees and then hundred(s) of thousand on dental school for four years, a couple hundred bucks should hardly make or break you in respect to the biggest test of your life. (other than the boards, I suppose)
From what I have collected, the Destroyer condenses a bunch of information into a single question and has in depth explanations. Also, it was made specifically after the author screened 1000's of DAT takers. So, it seems like it is a valuable resource for the DAT taker, but definately not the only source, nor does a DAT taker need it to get above average scores, that is just the trend on here.
Do what you want with the information and study how you please. Just remember their are some experienced and respected posters on here who are giving it the thumbs up despite the shameless plugs for the Destroyer. That tells me one thing, it must be a good material, otherwise people would rip it to shreds especially after paying the price they did.
It should at least make you think. But obviously anything can be done, it's all about working smarter, not harder.
