Is it just me, or does it seem like there are a lot of people on these forums that seem to be "pushing" Destroyer? A lot of these posts that seem to be advertising Destroyer sound like the same person but they have a different username. Something seems fishy. I think the people from Destroyer go on here, make a bunch of different accounts, and then go around and tell everybody how good their product is and tell everybody to buy it (for a really high price if i might add). Also, a lot of these suspicious people seem to advocate buying the NEW version rather than an old version- this seems fishy as ALL students know that textbooks barely change from year to year and the only reason they make new versions is to get more $$$.

What do you guys think? Is Destroyer on the forums trying to push their product?

I don't know...your 4 posts seem a little fishy to me...

But while I'm here...I have nothing to do with the Big D Family. I bought MATH and DAT Destroyers off the boards. Besides reviews here on the forums, I had plenty of in-person recommendations. They are worth it. They're talked about so much for a reason, just like Chad, Cliff, and Mr. Crack. I don't think the latest versions are all that important. It's getting through the questions and understanding it all that matters.

If anything, maybe they check in to see what folks are saying (although there are some errors discussed here that haven't been corrected), or to make sure some clowns aren't selling digital or photocopied books or something (they have good resale value).

Thanks for the response. My 4 posts probably do seem fishy haha, I have been a long time lurker (since around 2007) but I just created an account to try and find a used copy of the Math Destroyer. After doing a lot of research I was just wondering if anybody else got the feeling I did. Again, thanks for the response.

I was offered 1 MILLION Dollars to advertise Destroyer material.

Hey, by the way, have you heard of this great prep material called DAT Destroyer!?!?!?!? IT IS AWESOMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, GAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

But seriously, I think so many kiddos like Destroyer because, well, it is a great way to test your knowledge. Its like that last 5% that people desire to get the best score on the DAT. I dont know about everyone else, but it helped me.

The first time I started doing problems out of the Destroyer, I literally got "destroyed." I mean every single problem that I knew for sure that I got right, was absolutely totally wrong. The book is no joke, probably the best study material out there, you want to test your knowledge, get this book!

Im not advertising anything, I just want to see everyone do great on the DAT, im still crossing my fingers for mine coming up June 6th.

People, this book is so in depth, so challenging and will literally "destroy" you. BUT, once you get the hang of the problems and start answering the questions correctly, it will be smooth sailing.

If you dont want to buy this book, then dont. Plenty of other DAT study material out there. This is from my experience, and mine only.

Peace.

How do I get in on this getting paid by destroyer stuff?

Maybe if I recommend it on SDN they will pay me😏

DESTROYER IS AWESOME!:soexcited:

Seriously though, the problems are very good practice... The ACS study guide problems and DAT Destroyer is the only reason I passed the Gen Chem section

Oh and Chad's videos but you need practice if you are going to do well

Destroyer is very difficult. If I may I'll make a suggestion... I think spending time on destroyer is waisted if you're not able to make good "guesses" at the answer. This is why I would suggest that if you're having trouble with destoyer to spend time reviewing with chad & exam crackers gen chem and O chem. It comes with 1001 question booklets that are much more easier/straight concept questions. They will test your knowedge and let the glue dry on new concepts you've learned/memorized. After doing this you can move on to destroyer and get that last 5% as someone else mentioned.

To me this method is more akin to training up to a level of performance rather than sitting beneath a 300lb barbell and trying to push lol.

I agree with this. I wouldn't sit down Day 1 with this thing. I like it because it's not like reading a textbook. The solutions are great summaries of material you need to know. Just concise little snippets to remind you of key points which you should have come across already and common traps/misunderstandings. It's not just "Correct answer for question 254: B".

What am I doing here? I'm done with this thread unless there is money deposited to my PayPal by midnight tonight.

Don't trust any of the posts above! They are all various accounts of the people from DAT Destroyer Co.!! AHHHHHH :scared:

I took DAT few days ago and here is my advice;

practice as many problems from different resources and don't do them just once, do them 2 or more till you master it. I think I went over majority of brands and all of them were helpful.

also remember that with destroyer you dont really timing your self and there is a lack of rc and PAT in there too.

Very simple solution: If you don't like it, no worries, ignore it. As simple as that! 🙂

There are a whole bunch of DAT prep materials available out there for you to choose. It doesn't have to be Destroyer.

Yeah you just don't know who you can trust these days. Where does a person have to go to get honest reviews... Everything these days has the potential to be FAKE.

I have a copy of the DAT destroyer and the MATH destroyer and they are awesome, but a little overpriced!

I really don't think people are getting paid post fake reviews etc.

The Destroyer is a product many people have used and have had success using it along with other test prep materials, and many people recommend it, it is a great product.

i think the destroyer is worth every penny and even if he does advertise too much, i dont see a problem with that.

I was skeptical at first, but I bought it just in case. Can't be too prepared.

I am a hardcore chem major, tutor University-level chemistry on a weekly basis, but could only get around 70% of the questions my first time. It prepared me really well for the chem part of the DAT as it forces you to master the material, while also making you practice on your calculations. Do it after going through the Kaplan blue book, or Destroyer will eat you alive.

I did the Bio and it was good to know more random facts, but for Chemistries, it was more than sufficient to score well.

To update this post:

I ended up purchasing the 2011 DAT and MATH Destroyer.

THEY ARE BOTH AWESOME!

I highly recommend both books to anybody.
