DAT destroyer vs Achiever
Started by TXpredent
Thanks! I was wondering, how did you use the Destroyer? Did you go over each subject and then test yourself with Destroyer? Or did you do each subject each day and then after going through it all you just purely did Destroyer?

destroyer know it. all you need to get ur confidence !!!!!!!! going
You doin a bit of drinkin' james?
Did you take your DAT yet?
Destroyer is way better, like 10x better. But if you have the time and an extra 50 bucks get achiever. It will knock you on your ass and make you cry but its worth it and you really do get 3-4 points higher. I took an achiever test the day before and got below all 20s besides pat (15 in bio
). Went into the DAT the next day not worried because I was aware that achiever was tough. Got a 21AA. And I thank that 21AA to destroyer, Campbell bio book, and chads 90%! Kapalans 9% and other 1%.

I'm using Chad's videos actually. I like them, but I thought the Destroyer was basically a compilation of difficult DAT-like problems? For that type of practice, Chad's videos wouldn't do anything. Also, I don't think there's a bio section for chad's videos? At least I haven't seen it yet?
Also, how did yall use the DAT destroyer? Did you use it after you studied for the respective sections? Or did you save it for the end to refresh yourself on the material you just learned?

Don't neglect Chad's Quizes, they are probably the best representation of the problems I had on my DAT out of all the sources I used!
I went through achiever, noted mistakes and made concise note sheets with concepts I missed, or nuances I forgot. Destoryer is great at reminding you of all those chem and bio things you forgot from into bio, gen chem and ochem.
I think I am in the minority and I'd take achiever over destroyer for one simple reason: It prepares you for EVERY section. RC and PAT are not excluded! Its harder than destroyer and its answer explanations aren't as good, but the format is spot on and it will kick your ass. If you manage not to get depressed by the low scores, it'll really motivate you to study hard and it'll prepare you for the worst scenario. I also made concise note-sheets after each test entailing all the mistakes I made (mainly math and sci).
The day of my test, I went through every note sheet I made (achiever and Destroyer) and I was instantly reminded of all the little things I missed. Of course I got both and think they are important, though if you had to push me to choose only one, Achiever would get my money...every time!
By the way the difficulty of achiever is so extreme that after each section you'll really be awe-struck as to how you managed to get through it...and before you know it the new one starts and its just as difficult. Mentally it conditions you, nothing else can manage this.
