I plan on taking the DAT in about 5 months from now, and I've recently started studying. I took a Kaplan practice test and did fairly decent on it, so I was feeling pretty good. Then I started doing Destroyer problem sets, and the outcome is terrible. My confidence has plummeted, and now I'm feeling super nervous about taking the DAT. Is Destroyer supposed to be a lot harder than the actual test? Or is Kaplan just really easy?
Any advice from anyone who has taken the DAT would be great

In my humble opinion, the DAT Destroyer stunk. It is not representative of the test whatsoever. The only thing it accomplishes is wrecking your confidence and leaving you with a keen sense of how much *unnecessary* stuff you don't know.
For the chemistry sections, Chad is the man. If you master him, don't worry about the Destroyer. I suppose it's good practice, but don't expect to do well on it, especially the biology section. I did it for all of the sections 2x, but my time would have been better used elsewhere. There was 1 question on the OC section that I was able to get right because I went through the Destroyer, but were all of those hours worth one point? I'm not sure.
So, anyhow, DON'T let the Destroyer get you down. The test isn't nearly as difficult.

Oh, and I wouldn't stick with just Kaplan. I never took a practice test during the course of my studying, so I can't really comment on how representative their exams are, but make sure you're studying other things. 🙂

Well that makes me feel much better, as long as the Destroyer is not representative of what I may get on the actual test!
Congratulations on your amazing score, by the way! I'll definitely have to refer to your breakdown for advice 🙂
