Is it important to get DAT destroyers in the recent year like 2012? what if i have to opporunity to get the 2011 for cheaper or even the 2009 for even less money?

what should i do?

thanks in advance!

I don't know the importance of getting the newest version, however orgoman is currently offering a very good deal on ebay. He is charging $175 for new 2012 DAT Destroyer + Math Destroyer INCLUDING shipping. If you can find a better deal than that, by all means go for it, but if not this deal is the best offer I have seen.

You'll be at a serious disadvantage, missing about 150 questions between 10'-11', and about 100 questions between 11'-12'. Well worth the investment his material is on point, about six close friends hit solid 22's and up using destroyer & CDP alone, not to mention none of them scored below a 26 in orgo. Material is solid!

I have a very outdated 2007 edition and that did well enough for me. Like one of the people above said, you are missing quite a few questions, but for me spending nearly a 120 more for an extra few hundred questions didn't seem like a great idea. Something like Achiever or Top Score will give you 2000+ or 1000+ questions for $140 and $60 respectively and they cover all the DAT areas.

Honestly, Destroyer is good for material review, but for a more DAT experience pick up achiever instead. If you are weak on the sciences though, Destroyer is the best prep tool. If you want to concentrate on the DAT as a whole Destroyer is not even in contention since it doesn't consider RC or PAT, both of which can give people major problems.

Everyone I know that has taken Destroyer seriously (done it multiple times and been sure of every question in it) has gotten huge scores in the sciences (I am talking 23+ TS up to 26+ TS for my top scoring friend). I found it to be less effective having to go through the same problems twice, so if the newest edition has 100 more questions I would say go for it. You won't regret an investment up front if you kill the DAT the first time, use every advantage you can get.

I don't think its important to have the newest version of it. I am not the biggest fan of the book to be honest. I am not saying don't buy it is helpful and I would purchase it again but seriously some of the those questions are ridiculous. I would save the extra money for datqvault and practice tests.

I would buy MATH destroyer. I only did 3 of the practice test out of there but they were spot on for the real thing. I wish I would have spent more time on QR I think its 1/3 of the aa.

QR is actually 1/5 of AA. AA is (QR + RC + GC + OC + Bio)/5 rounded to the nearest integer.

To the OP though, as with most forums based opinion questions, you'll get people on both sides of the isle, you get to decide whose reasons are compelling or applicable to your situation!

Yes. I saw the 2012 Destroyer. It has a lot of new questions especially in the bio section. You will definitely benefit with a new version.

DAT Destroyer is good but I feel Chad's videos is the best prep to score in the 20's for the sciences.

How about orgoman organic chem oddyssey? Does it change as much as the destroyer? Or it's ok to go with an older edition?

ditto. But why not play it safe and do both!!!!! Remember the key is to learn why/how you missed a question in each. Pound the weak areas until theyre strengths. GOod luck!

I did the 2007 destroyer and then did the 2011 destroyer. It is VERY similar. I don't think there's a big difference at all except for the bio section where there are 100+ more questions in the 2011 than in the 2007. Overall, very similar so I can only imagine that the 2009. If you can buy the 2011 that would be ideal.
