DAT destroyer

Hi everyone,
I'm starting Kaplan in June and I know that alone isn't enough and I've heard that DAT Achiever, Top score, and DAT destroyer are good but there's only so much I can focus on. So I want to choose 2 of these 3 but I'm not sure which 2 to pick. Does anyone know about the DAT destroyer? My life literally depends on the test. If you guys have any opinions please let me know. I would really appreciate your help.

I could say from my own experience that i did the same thing you did. I took the Kaplan course and unfortunately it was not enough. I would strongly advise trying to get your hands on as much material as you possibly can. Before you get the DAT Destroyer you need to have a very strong base. Once you created your base through using the Kaplan Blue book, Top Score and/or Achiever then you are ready to take it the next level, which is the Destroyer. Good luck and i hope you make the right decision for yourself.

If you do not have a good foundation, start with review materials. Only get the Destroyer after you're solid in the basics.

Do yourself a favor and buy both Achiever & Topscore (in addition to Destroyer of course). You're talking a difference of 50 bucks and it will be well worth it. Both programs are awesome in their own way. I would say Achiever is much more difficult, but both prepare you well for the mechanics of the actual test.

why not get all three? i know money can be tight (all those bills to pay) but it all pays at the very end if you do well and get that acceptance letter in the mail. okay. but if i had to choose, i would buy one of the CD's (topscore/achiever) and the dat destroyer. the CD's are great because you can familiarize yourself with taking the exam on computer and etc. the dat destroyer on the other hand will test you on what you know and what you dont know which is kind of nice, so you can go back to the dat materials and re-study what your weaknesses are. so go ahead and study from kaplan book, your textbooks and other souces. when you are ready, go through the dat destroyer book because like i said, it's a nice way of knowing what your weakensses are. then go ahead and take the CD exams to familiarize yourself with the testing skills on computer.

topscore is just practice exams...but it explains why the answer is right or wrong.

I just started working on destroyer's bio questions after reading & understanding kaplan's (blue book) bio chapters. I am still on Q 10...but out of those i was only able to answer 2 questions. Rest of them... I was like what are they talking about? In my opinion you cannot answer destroyer's questions just by reading kaplan's bio chaps. I even went back & tried to find the answers for those questions in kaplan's book, but i couldnt. But i was able to find each & every single topic in Schuam's outlines for biology. If real DAT is anything like Destroyer then i would really suggest to read Schuam's outlines for bio. May be i shouldnt make judgement based on 10 questions but still....

We will see how it works out in later questions. Just wanted to let you guys know about this!

The Destroyer is a must buy. The book really prepares you. You will get alot of the answers wrong in the beginning but if you focus and understand his solutions you will do well on your practice tests.

if ur deciding between achiever and topscore i would recommened achiever justbecause its more of a challenge than topscore. Then once you have the basics i would hit the destroyer. That book is a must...u'll see for yourself.
