Hello, everyone. I am new to this forum.

I prepared for 1 month(everyday study and stop at this forum) and finally finished up the DAT today.

the scores are as following as:

PAT 23
QR 21
RC 17 😡
Bio 18 😎
GC 22
OC 20
TS 20
AA 20

Plus my comment for each section.

PAT:
CRACK is the most helpful. Real DAT is 80% difficulty of CRACK.
Cube counting and hole punch is a lot easier than CRACK(20%).
Difficulty of TFE, angle, patterning, and projection are similar to CRACK.

QR:
need a statistics knowledge.
be familiar with % calculation and long word problems.
Unit conversion problem gives unit conversion factor nicely.

RC:
No horrible ETHICS passage for me.
I am a foreigner so I will skip my comment for this section.
A lot of questions for deciding the true or false of the given comment.

BIO:
some of are similiar to destroyer. Not similar to Kaplan.
some of question that I never seen before shows up several times.
Achiever might provide the good projection of score that you will get in the real DAT.
(Achiever scores within plus minus 1 or 2 = real DAT )

Chem:
Concept(70%) with 30% calculation
very straight forward
easier than Achiever
(Achiever +3= real DAT)

O-Chem:
prepare for NMR and IR questions
understand BENZENE 100%
similar difficulty to achiever
(Achiever +1 =real DAT)

So, here is my turn. I would love to listen from forum's opinion.

Based on my statistics

Science GPA 3.27
GPA 3.28
Bio Medical Engineering Major
susbtantial amount of time for shadowing
3 years of research experience

Do I need to retake DAT?

many thanks to this forum because I stopped to this forum whenever I had a breaktime during my study time,
and this forum charges up my mental state to full and healthy to study again with new fresh mind.

I wish my comment helps people who prepare DAT during this summer.
Good Luck for all 2009 cycle applicants.

GPA is a little on the low side but still in contention. Your AA 20 and PAT 23 is definitely competitive so your DAT evens out the lower GPA. AS long as you have a solid app, good LOR, good PS, and good EC, you should have no problem getting interviews. Apply to schools who have lower average GPAs. I think you will be just fine.

You have very solid scores, congrats! I wouldn't retake if I were you... I'm studying for the DAT right now and would be verrrry happy with those scores!

I wonder if they'll be a little easier on you for the RC since you're foreign. Just a thought.

haha you must be joking about retaking with those scores. theyre amazing. just try to apply as soon as you can and i think you should get in no problem even with the slightly lower gpa.

Retaking would be pointless. Your DAT scores are very good. Its the GPA that nay be the only setback and that cant be changed by retaking. Even with the low GPA you should still be good. Great job on the DAT and good luck on the rest of your application process.
