Hey guys! I took the DAT exam today.

Scores:
PA 21 (87.9%)
QR 24 (99%)
RC 25 (97%)
Biology 20 (88%)
GC 23 (95.4%)
Ochem 24 (95.7%)
TS 22 (95.6%)
AA 23 (98.7%)

I am very happy with my scores! Extremely happy! WHOOP!

I started studying December 14th, so I had about a month of studying.

Materials Used:
KBB
Top Score
DatQVault

Practice Tests:
Kaplan Diagnostic
ADA 2007

PA (21)- I went in just wanting an 18, I tried my best. It is definitely harder than anything listed above. I guess either I'm lucky, or really have decent perceptual ability.

QR (24)- Some questions I had no idea how to do and I guessed. This section to me was the hardest, but I am pretty lucky.

RC (25)- Topscore is all search and destroy. The DAT is not completely like that. I had lots of "pick an adjective" for whatever.

Biology (20)- Well Biology is, either you know it or you don't.

GC (23)- I am surprised by this score the most, cause I've been averaging 16-19 on every practice test.

Ochem (24)- I had a very strong background in organic chemistry, and it's the section I least prepared for out of the sciences.

If I had more time, I would have studied more, but it took me 2 weeks to read the Kaplan Blue Book (which was almost waste of time). And the other 2 weeks cramming as much practice problems as I can get. Everyone works differently, so do what's best for you!

Thanks everyone who has read my posts, and given me support.

Edit- The title is wrong. I took the DATs on the 13th.

great job man...
wow great scores... how did u find the level of hardness for the RC section... I'm really struggling with this and can't seem to figure it out...
how does it compare to Topscore even though u already mentioned u can't do S&D for all.
did u read the passage before answering questions or did u go straight to the questions first....
thanks.

Thanks everyone!

During the test, I skimmed, and flipped through questions simultaneously. (I did not read through all questions first, since that would take time). The passage resets to paragraph 1 every question (different than Topscore). Some questions would ask like "How did the author feel about this paragraph?" Happy, Sad? (bigger words though). So you do have to analyze. S&D was about 85% of the test, so if you're good at that I think a 21 is very easy. You have to be quick. I finished 3 passages with 10 minutes left. So I did not read the passage for real. I am a slow reader so I know I would just run out of time. Most questions the answers can be found in the passage! You just have to seek it within a certain amount of time.

Good luck!

oh wow... god damn... I like can't seem to be quick enough to answer the questions when i read the passage and then answer using S&D / remember where the answer might be.
when you find where the answer is, was the answer within that paragraph?
Ah, also when the questions are at the top and the article is at the bottom, is the window size for the article as Topscore?
sorry for buggin. exam is in 2 weeks and i'm trying to get better on the RC... thanks

I know! 13* has always been my lucky number though 😀.

The passage will not stay where it was when you click next, it will go back to paragraph 1. I have a really good memory, so I remember where everything is if I read it. The answer is generally in the paragraph, sometimes you have to read between the lines or think outside the box, but generally it's RIGHT there.

Window Size? Like the screen? It's a full screen not the 800x600 crap. =]
