I have a low GPA so I am applying to some Post-Bac programs in my state. If I do get into the Post-Bac program they offer a DAT course that according to alot of students boost your DAT big time. So do you guys think I should retake my DAT because of that 15 in Math or should I not worry about it and focus solely on getting A's in all my classes? I understand I should be able to do both if I wanna go to dental school (DAT study and Class work), but do you guys think its necessary or not?

Please delete this thread, you know you have great scores, this will make future test takers anxious and feel bad. And no you don't need a retake

Your scores rock dude! QR isn't that important and that 15 won't hold yo back really at all.. Definitely focus on getting that GPA up.

Thanks guys and sorry I didn't mean to get other people anxious or anything, WCVU, I only posted this because when I talked to the post bac program directors, they were impressed with my scores for sure, yet they all pointed out that a 15 will definitely hurt me because it is low.
I really don't want to have to take it again. If I ever do get interviews in the future I guess I will just have to defend that score(That is what the directors have told me)

It hurts you b/c it brought your AA down... TO A 20! I may put aside dental and go into dental advising b/c I'm tired of these advisers not knowing what they are talking about. You have 20+ in every other section, so you are obviously intelligent. It would be different if you had a low RC and PAT, b/c then it may have just looked liked you studied the TS for months and aren't as academically inclined, but you did well on those sections too. Congratulations and do not retake. Maybe there will be a school who rejects you b/c of that score, but it won't be many.

And referring back to my previous statement about advisers not knowing what they are talking about. That's obviously an exaggerated statement. I know they are trying to help and give us the best advice that will allow us to succeed, but I wish they had more experience with the DAT and the dental school application process. They usually just read some reports, look at school's web pages, and evaluate numbers. While this forum offers a myriad of opinions; whether right or wrong; I believe you will find better advice here than in your healthcare adviser's office

i dont think it will hold you back any, you may just have to explain the low score during interviews, which i had to do sometimes

Don't retake it. I have similar scores to yours, however I got a 14 in math. I called several schools and asked if I should retake the DAT. They said that as long as my AA was 20 or higher and PAT was 20 or higher then retaking it is not necessary. The people i talked to even told me that the math score doesn't really matter that much and it is not considered very heavily.

Thanks again for the input guys. I think I will probably just stick with this score. I would think that taking it twice would look worse than taking it once and having 1 low score right? Yeah not too sure what is up with these health advisors, what is more sad is that the people I talked to were actually part of the schools of dentistry that I wanted to got to, but they weren't part of the admissions side. They were only in charge of dealing with Post-bac people. I guess I'll just work on bringing my GPA up and making my extracurriculars better. Good Luck to all you guys who got pre-dec interviews, December 1st is approaching!
