QUestions: do schools care about low QR? cuz mine is pretty damn low =(

2007 DAT SCORE/2008 DAT SCORE

BIO: 17/22😀
OC: 21/23😀
GC: 19/19🙄
RC: 18/23
PAT: 21/20🙄
QR: 16/14🙁

TS: 19/22😎
AA: 18/20😳

granted my math and pat dropped..I don't care! lol

i am a 2nd time applicant, 3.4 Science GPA, 3.5 overall. lots of dental experience, work as a dental assistant, volunteer etc.
**So with those stats and last years DAT bscores, i only got one interview in CA. so for those of u with similar stats..u mite want to reconsider retaking the DAT.


software i recommend: Topscore, and cracking the PAT, and Destroyer, and AP Cliff's Bio, Schaum's BIO.

What about achiever? did you try those? I have heard achiever is an overkill, but some people keep on recommending it. Is it worth buying?

i used achiever last year..not this year. i think it is harder than the real dat but practice is practice! =)
i recommend just using Destroyer cuz u can keep that thing forever, while achiever, u only keep for 3 months. =)

i honestly didn't come up with a strategy until i got my passages, cuz the only practice i got was with topscore. however, my first two passages were so long!! 17 paragraphs in the first one..and 14 in the 2nd..
Those DAT bastards..they do that on purpose to FREAK u out!
...So my on the spot strategy: skip to the passage with the less amount of paragraphs (my third one had 9) and do that first. i figured, i'd get more points right witht his easy one (less paragraphs = easier to skim and do "search and find method" = more points=confidence to take on those other hard passages)

didnt get in ANYWHERE last yr?? where did u apply?🙁 did u try meharry tufts, nyu, atsu, places like that? I'm nervous im a 2nd time also.. jst retook my dats last thursd, improved on everything, except RC went down by 3 pts (i got frapped)
i got Bio18 Gchecm&Ochem 19s qr16 rc18 pat20 ts19 aa18 have a 3.4gpa, tons of volunteering& over 5,000hr dental experience, good letters of rec, BS in physiology.. i applied to 12 schools but now super nervous after ur post..
Good to you this time- great score improvement! ( i feel u on QR- i HATE IT) i think schools will overlook it bc of ur amazing sciences 👍 go party

first off, thank u everyone for leaving behind feedback and wonderful remarks. i worked so hard this summer (i'm sure we all have). u can check out my predent profile ..for some odd reason, my 1st DAT scores keept getting updated as my new ones..but none the less, u can see what schools i applied to..they're pretty much the same. =) good luck everyone! study hard! and practice problems as much as u can!

Are u kidding me? That's so unreal it's hard for me to believe it and im not sure an admission officer will either. If it's true though and they believe you, then you look like an excellent candidate for dental school

5000 is believable!! if u have been out of school for 4-5 years, then u can complete those hours as a dental assistant/job shadower. who's to say that u can't do both?
