This was my first time taking the DAT.

I don't know...I am just kind of disappointed in myself and feeling kind of depressed because I thought I could have done much better...

Anyway, here's my scores..

PAT 25 (99.8%)
QR 18 (74.1%) 🙁
RC 16 (17.1%) 😕😡😡(my stupid execuse : English = my 2nd language....i know it won't work)
Biology 19 (78.2%) 🙁
General Chem 22 (89.5%)
Organic Chem 20 (80.9%)
Total Science 20 (85.8%)
Academic Avg 19 (75.3%)

when I calculated my GPA based on ADA system(or whatever that is),
my overall GPA is about 3.67
Science GPA is about 3.76


Maybe I should retake it?
Please, give me your advices...

btw, I would like to go to school in new york city....if not, boston.. i guess...
becasue I really like city environment...you know?
But, it seems like it's going to be pretty hard to go to school in those cities with my stupid scores....sigh~

I wouldn't retake. The low RC hurts, but everything else is solid. No worries.

Is English your first language? If not, I would mention this at interviews as the reason for your lower score.

You should be fine, especially with your higher GPA. Apply early and you shouldn't have any problem. Best of luck.

You did awesome! Give yourself some credit. Solid sciences and PAT. Some one already mentioned this but just make sure you apply early and you should be gearing up for dental school in no time....Good luck to you!

theres nothing wrong with those scores at all... you should be fine with those, but if you really feel you could do better, you still have time to take it again and apply early...

I got a 19 and 20 in AA and TS respectively with a significant lower GPA that you. It didn't prevent me from getting accepted to Buffalo. You are all set. 19-20 is a strong score. Don't let those 20+ scores on this board scare you. If you look at the overall average of people getting accepted it is 19-20ish. The average of all applicants tends to be around 17-18ish. Your GPA is above average for people who get accepted. Take it easy and finish up any requirements that you haven't. Start working on you personal statement and getting recommendations.

because if you look at the people's scores at www.predents.com, they(like 90% of them) have like 23/24/25 and 3.9 of GPA......and still some of them get some rejections.......you know??

1- predents only has a partial list of applicants. there are many people with lower stats
2- not everyone is truthful and honest about their stats on predents

I have a feeling that you can do better. I think the key to the test is staying relaxed but focused throughout the exam. Once you panic or give up, it's over...

I think these are good score. dont think about retaking it. in my oppinion. in any chance do you remember your reading comp. topics?

With a nice PAT score, it really overshadows your RC score a bit. You'll get interviews at most of the private schools for sure.

My stats are like yours, so you are fine. Just apply early.
