DAT Done 3/27/09 QR...Retake?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Those scores are solid but I think what will hold you back is the QR score since it won't meet the cutoff for almost all the schools. The ADCOMs will love your GPA but with the 3000+ applications most schools get, I wouldn't be surprised if they wouldn't consider your application since there are many other applications who do meet the cutoffs. I believe your QR score would meet the cutoff for USC but many other schools require a minimum of 16/17 I believe.

IMO retake, I would try to aim for +1 in the PAT and RC as well. Nice GPA btw

most schools don't have a QR cut off though.
your sci gpa is a bit low compared to your overall gpa, but both are still on the high side. I don't think a retake is needed.

Yea, i know columbia doesn't have a cutoff, just check their websites, Find schools with no cutoffs (QR should be easier to leave behind than TS) and you will be fine as long as the in-state, out-of-state deal is not problem.

University of Minnesota has TS 19, PA 19, AA 19, and everything else at least 17 (at least for early decision). See if you can't raise your PA score a little bit too.

Keep in mind if you retake it, you need to keep all of your high scores, cause if those dip, your dental school will not be happy.

I do not want to be a dissenter, but these scores look like a retake. Your GPA, ECAs, and science scores are excellent. However you do not have one low score, you have two low scores. QR (14) hold you back for many schools applied strict cutoffs (such as UCSF and UCLA). I think that RC 17 will hurt your application too, since that is the most important individual score. If I were you, I can think to retake (especially you are done with science sections). Of course, the choice is yours. I still believe that you will have a lot of interviews with this status.

I think this most likely depends on the school to which you are applying.
