I just wanted to thank all the posters on this forum for all the advice they have given out. For such a competitive career field, it is nice to have a community like this.

Breakdown:

Bio: Compared to some practice tests I took the test seemed to place more emphasis on application of bio knowledge less on spitting on short facts. Questions covered pretty much everything. A question about spores, some phylogeny/classification questions. Nothing really on experimental techniques. I didnt have a question about FRAP like other people had.

GChem: Pretty standard. Destroyer prepared me well. Way less calculations then in Destroyer and Kaplan. I did get a question about coefficients in a Redox Reaction, so that took some time. Had a question that combined basic stoicometery and electrolysis. Nothing surprised me.

Ochem: More spectrometrey questions than I hoped for. One cNMR one hNMR, and on IR question that didnt involve the broad -OH band. Also had a question what elutes first in Silica Gel Chromatography. Also had a aldol condensation reaction.

My scores:

Bio 27
Gchem 23
OChem 22
TS 23
RC 21
AA 22
QR 18
PAT 18

Does anyone know if the low PAT score will hurt me going into the application process. I really dont want to take the test again lol

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE

another first round draft pick!

you'll hear similar things in the next 20 posts.. congrats!

because it's standard procedure:

What did you use for bio prep?

If applicable, what were your topscore, achiever, kaplan practice test scores?

thanks for any additional info!
go celebrate!

?? Yea.. you will probably need to retake ! I dont think that will cut! do better on pat next time!!!! LFI!!

With a TS/AA of 23/22 , adcoms will be too in awe to even think about downgrading you with a PAT of 18. Seriously, with great academic scores your PAT would have to be so low that it looks like you have vision problems. Unless your GPA is very low, you should be able to apply to as few as 7 or 8 schools and get in easily. But I'd apply to 15 so you can see more variety. Make sure to apply to all the top notch private schools and a few state schools with high standards.

Don't worry about PAT, my friend. I have a feeling dental schools will be delighted to have many interviews with you. Good luck on the rest of the process and great job killing the DAT.

Which method did u use for Top-front-end in Pat? Does counting the number of events work in real Dat?

Those are great scores!! I wouldnt worry about you PAT scores, and the only reason you would have to take the DAT again is if you want to. If I were you, I would just sit back and watch all the schools contact me!
