I really appreciate SDN and those people who helped me when I was having hard time

so today I took DAT in anaheim center

BIO 30
GCHEM 24
OCHEM 22
TS 25
PAT 22
QR 19
RC 19
AA 23

I never thought of getting 30 on bio.. but WOW~! 😛
I've got many ecosystem qs, but since they were all basic, it was not a problem
got one lab equipment
(got 18~21 on topscore, 18~19 on achiever)
gchem - covered only basic, study kaplan book will set at least 19~20
(got 18~19 on topscore and achiever)
ochem - I've dedicated so much time on ochem that I thought I was going to get highest score on here, but got 4~5 NMR and 2 of them which I wasn't so sure of.... (got 18~20 on achiever, 20~21 on topscore)
PAT - level of topscore.. I was able to get ~21 on topscore, 17 on achiever
QR - no comments on here.. trig was basic.. 2~3 probability was basic... but a lot of graph calculation which I've seen in satII math...
RC - I got so lucky here.. I got 16,14,12 paragraphs paasage and 12 paragraph was all tone qs... but was okay... No comments here since I'm international student 😛

I used topscore, achiever, and some random 3 sets of full-length test, kaplan, some random 450 pages of review book for dat, ap cliffs bio, ap bio (which I used in high school), shaum's, all the textbook (including campbell and read beginning to end), ap chemistry (2 different ver), mcat 1001 ochem, ochem odyssey,

had bad sleep.. had SEVERE headache..... but it's all good..
since all my hardwork paid 🙂

feel free to ask me any questions

It's march 29th now. Make errors in irrelevant places not on the DAT.😀
You are in great shape. Just apply and watch those interview invites come unless you have sucky GPA.

Great job! I think you are in great shape. I have a question. For the NMR and IR questions, did you have to memorize all the peak tables?

I got 13C NMR, 1H NMR, 2 spectroscopy, and I pretty much knew N-H, O-H, O=c-H, O-c-O
and basics of all the spectroscoopy.. and they were enought except one question that I had no idea what that was

Wow, with those scores you should get some scholarships pretty quick. I can't believe you got a 30 on the bio... you rock man.

How would you compare the DAT test to the practice Kaplan ones??
Thanks

That DAT will cover even a sucky GPA lol

30 bio is ridiculous wow.
very nice work.

Cover a sucky GPA? Do you know how many people get a 23 on their DAT? I think the last time I looked it was like 100 people in the United States! I think you could have a 2.0 and get in with that score.

Hats off to you!!!!

This is just ridiculous...I wish I was done too.
How much time did you dedicate studying?

How would you compare the DAT test to the practice Kaplan ones??

comparable...
but Kaplan is more straight-forward whereas real one is more applicable
but since you have all the basic, you can retrieve the right answer
(I took the full-length test that's attached to kaplan review's book night before and was able to score 23,22,22)

Hats off to you!!!!

This is just ridiculous...I wish I was done too.
How much time did you dedicate studying?

I got a lot of books, review stuffs from my brother who got in to NYU last year and those people who got this year and those people who took MCAT, so I saved $700,

I've read kaplan book at least 8 times, examkrackers each 3 times, entire campbell and ochem book, cliffs, shaums, ap bio book which I used in high school, ap chem (2 different vers).. and I don't know.... I can't remember all of them

read kaplan review book 3 times from last summer to winter
then, spent approximately 10~12 hr for past three month.
I ABNADON my life to be as human beings..

Congrats on great, great scores!! It's absolutely unbelievable that someone could get 30 on Bio, WOW!!

You omg owned that test, especially the sciences. If everything in your application reflects your performance here then I have no doubts that you'll get into D school of your choice. Make sure you submit your AADSAS over the summer.

Amazing Score, I envy you, but you earned it man, keep it up and everything is pretty much yours.

Congrats on the scores! I was wondering when you actually read thru all your review material did u also take notes as well? Also, how did u setup ure reading/ taking practice tests schedule?

Thewierdnerv,

You seem to be very knowledgeable and helpful. Could you please give me a link to a thread or website that has some good strategies for the TFE on the PAT? I don`t know what counting the lines strategy is and it seems that it might be a faster way to solve these prob.

Thank you

yes, I made a personal notes so I can look it up whenever I forget stuffs.

reading, I only did 1 from topscore, 2 from achiever..
can't comment anything on here since it's the least I studied.
but I had confident in reading since I've read so many books and study-aids to preapre dat, and I found myself improved in reading...

and my passages were relatively short, so I've got lucky.😀

I meant how did u setup your schedule to read your notes/books eight times over and over again. did you read like 3 chapters on a prep book then wrote notes for 3 chapters? you state that you read your study aids several times but i'm curious how you were able to fit in the time for that?

Which method did u use for Top-front-end in Pat? Does counting the number of events work in real Pat?

im also using AP chem review books. Did you find them helpful ?
Im using the Princeton review. I'm finding the question to be a bit too easy. What did you think ?

A 30 on Bio is a great achievement, better than a 30 in any other section. I am willing to bet that most bio professors won't even be able to come close to a 30, given how specialized Ph.D. studies are. Great job!
