Just done my DAT 2 hours ago,

PAT 23 96.4%
QR 30 100%
RC 19 52.2%
Bio 19 76.6%
GC 26 98.8%
OC 23 94.4%
TS 21 91.6%
AA 23 98.7%

Very hard in my opinion. Especially in Bio. Less than 5 straight forward questions; questions are hard to understand, seems like asking questions with applications.
GC is ok, but not easy as i thought. ( I'm Chem major)
OC is hard. Couple lab questions about TLC, extraction.
PAT is ok. I would say the angle and patten folding are very hard. I could not finish the last 5 folding questions, just guessing. The shade parts are hard to see on the screen!
RC: hard in my opinion.(I am ESL student), no piano, but antibiotic and medicines. Looks like I only got half right and getting a 19. The hardness can be imaged. I would say only 50% are details, all others are tone, i hate the question like" what word best described the paragraph X ?" Even though, it is a single adj word, I don't know the meaning any of them.
QR is ok.but 4 possibility questions, 3 are hard. I did educated guessing on those three, luckily, i got all right.

Be honest, I would expect to have 23,25,23 on my DAT. I almost give up during the test, i found the nature science is hard than any of the practice test such as, 6 Kaplan online exams, 3 DAT Achieves, 3 Topscores. My three topscores are:
1. 21, 23, 22
2. 22, 25, 23
3. 22, 24, 22

anyways, i felt so pressured during these days, time for me to relax. Seriously, I really don't wanna retake it. Its such a torture to me.

Materials I used:

Bio: Kaplan Blue book(from Kaplan classroom, over 1000 pages), CliffAP, Barrons, DAT destroyer.
If anyone have the same test as me, I would say the kaplan and Cliffap are useless, DAT destroyer would more useful. But I did not really review the destroyer, I did review at least twice of Kaplan and CliffAP, I can say I know every details of those two books, even the 6 types of fungi and protista. But nothing was on the test.

GC: Kaplan, DAT destroyer. destroyer is very helpful.
Comparing to the other twos, this is the easiest in three science parts.

OC: kaplan, DAT destroyer. (destroyer is really helpful). Couple Lab questions confused me.

PAT: kaplan online, Crack DAT PAT. This is my strongest part, all 5 Crack DAT test are 22 or 23. I felt I did the right choice, the topscores and kaplan are too easy.

RC: Crack DAT reading. This is my weakest part since i am a ESL student. All 5 tests are about 15,17. Not a one over 18, shame..

QR: kaplan online. I am very good at math unless there are some kind of word problem that i don't understand. Possibility are hard on my DAT.

I spent a lot money on preparing my DAT.
Kaplan classroom $1200+, crack dat pat+ reading $160, DAT achiever $60, topscores $60, CliffAP and others $200.

I don't know if they changed test's hardness, but the time I spent on Bio is useless and meaningless.

Any questions, feel free to ask me. Excuse my English, i am a ESL student. Time for me to play! Hell Yea!

Bio score is a little low, but overall you did good!.. I wouldn't worry about it a whole bunch.... What is your gpa looking like?

you drew on the screen for pat? is that allowed? Congrats on an amazing score... 30 on QR is just wild... all you used was kaplan prep? what is your math background?

Yes, I drew on the screen for PAT, i don't know if it is allowed or not,but i did anyways. All these maths are easy to me because i learned them in China in middle school, only probability is a little changeling to me. I didn't spend much time on math, I knew I could do well if I know the meaning of the questions.

You are not suppose to draw on the screen, that's consider cheating. You suppose to imagine the angles and determine the angle. This is what is written on the DAT guideline, which is kinda similar to what you did.

The test center will provide two erasable note boards, two low-odor fine tip dry erase markers, and an eraser to use during the test. Scratch paper, pencils, or markers not provided by the testing center are not permitted. The erasable note board cannot be used as a measuring device and cannot be folded, bent, distorted, or mutilated in any manner. You may not use the dry erase markers on any surface other than the erasable note board. All items must be returned to the test administrator before leaving the Prometric Test Center.

If you not even allow to bend or fold the erasable board, I don't think you are allow to mark on the screen. If it is allow, then everyone would get good score on the PAT portion. Hate to be bearer of bad news, but if they find out, they could revoke your test.

spritezhang you are a mathemagician! to think that you trail-blazed through the last section flawless w/ time not being an issue is incredible. you just tore up the percentile 😱

Congrats! you did great!!
I think it's awesome you drew on the computer screen, but I was told not even to touch the screen or they could kick you out! But now I don't know since you obviously got away with it haha... congrats again!!!

did you just finished kaplan course like say in San Jose?

I remember 1 guy who learned all his math while in china. and was taking the test in may. wonder if that's you.

I don't know that, i didn't even read the guideline. Well, hope they coundl't find out.

I'm sure you still did great on the PAT section without drawing on the screen. They do have camera that record the behavior of the test taker. Hopefully, they won't notice you. Great score, you will get in for sure.

Fantastic scores on your DAT!! Thanks for the breakdown.

Question-- The issues you had with Bio makes me nervous (saying that 90% of info was not at all from Kaplan or Cliffs) and you said you didn't have much time to complete Bio destroyer. So my question, is how did you still do well on the Bio portion if the materials you studied with were kinda useless? I mean, a 19 on Bio is still only 7-8 questions wrong, so to get 32-33 question right you did something correctly! haha thanks

Well, comparing to what I practiced from DAT Achiever,Kaplan and TopScore, the biology parts were straightfoward. I remembered my DAT only have 5 questions that after I read the questions I know the answers immediately without thinking too much. All others are hard and need time to think. I would say even it's hard, if you have those basic knowledge, you could still eliminated wrong choices, so don't be nervous, you might not have the same version as mine, you still need to know those materials well. I would to review Bio destroyer, because some questions are kind similar to my DAT. I have never practiced any Bio parts like my real DAT, I was shocked at the beginning, I almost gave up and thought to retake, but the score is acceptable, I guess they curved a lot on my DATsince they gave me a 19 with only 50% right on the reading .
Good luck. You will be ok.
