Hey everyone, finished my DAT and figured I would post for those who are worried about it!
PAT: 22
QR: 21
RC: 25
Bio: 25
Gchem: 23
Ochem: 20
TS: 22
AA: 23

Let me be honest here, I was so nervous for this test that I felt like I was sick for about a month before the test. I'm not saying this to scare you, but to reassure you that it will be okay! I didn't do any hardcore studying 8 hours a day except for 3 days before the test. Otherwise I studied when I had time and when I had the will to do it during school.

I was fortunate that I didn't really have to study for Ochem because I just completed it this past semester. For bio I read through the Cliff's book once, and the Kaplan book once, then I just used DAT destroyer and looked up answers I got wrong and understood them completely (study smart, not hard). Had a Gchem freakout about 4 days before the test. Realized I had barely touched the subject and was getting really low scores on achiever and topscore (like 16). Gchem on the real test was very simple, so once again, relax and you will do fine. Ochem was a bit of a surprise to me because I ended up in the 95th percentile on my ACS exam 2 weeks before the test, so don't forget to study sections you may have just completed in a subject. Did very little PAT studying besides the Kaplan problems and a PAT the DAT app on my iPhone, though I am naturally pretty good at visual things (I guess those video games are good for something!!). Reading comprehension was a complete joke IMO, I did 2 passages before the real test. In the real test I got a section on fiber optics which I know a bit about, prions (learned about in cell bio), and I forgot what the third section was already 😀 QR was pretty rough, I thought I was going to score a 16 on it before I clicked the submit button, needless to say I was pleasantly surprised 🙂

For study tools I used Kaplan blue book, DAT destroyer, Topscore, Achiever, and Cliffs AP bio. Overall just relax, eliminate obviously wrong answers, and you will be fine! The most helpful study tip I can think of is to learn about things you get wrong and understand how they work (internet is very helpful), don't constantly review the things you are worried about forgetting (you will remember them!!)

Edit: Also I forgot to thank all of the previous threads on here for giving me help and confidence going into the test! Much appreciated!!

Some seriously impressive scores right here, that 20 in OC you should be ashamed off though...man it really should have been a 21 or more 😛

Congrats on the absolutely bulletproof scores and good luck with the upcoming apps!

Thanks! I know a 20 is great! Just surprising that what I consider my best school subject is my lowest score 😛

Congratulations! Great scores 🙂
I had exactly the same passages (and lots of others seem to had that one too) but I found it hard because you couldn't use search and destroy. I guess the best method is to read the whole passage and solve the problems.

Like I said I really didn't prepare much for RC, I am lucky I received passages that interest me. I read the entire passage, then I had a rough idea of where to look for answers, use the paragraph numbers on the side to associate topics with questions. I actually ended with 8 minutes left to spare!
