So I'm finally finished. Overall pretty pleased with my scores. I started studying very lightly in December, stepped it up in May, and it consumed me for all of June. Scores are:

PAT 19 (69%) 🙁
QR 18 (86%)
RC 21 (88%)
BIO 21 (95%)
GC 24 (98%) 🙂
OC 20 (84%)
TS 21 (96%)
AA 21 (97%)

I was disappointed in my PAT score, not that it's bad necessarily but I was getting 21's consistently on Crack PAT. I found the test PAT (esp the hole punching) to be inconsistent between questions, but that could just be me. Also I kind of put math on the back burner and my score reflects that. The advice about study materials I got here was definitely spot on. AP Bio was awesome, Crack PAT was indispensable as was Kaplan BB and Destroyer, I found TopScore to be the most in line with the actual thing. My major gripe is with Achiever. It was completely, totally, disproportionately hard. The night before last I got a 15 on all science sections and it blew my confidence. I understand why it would be a useful study material, but it certainly does not reflect the difficulty of the test in any way.

I'm applying to UNC, UoP, MUSC, UAB, UK, VCU, and Tufts with a GPA of 3.87 (overall) and 3.77 (science) so I'm feeling pretty confident. This forum has been super helpful so I just wanted to say thanks!

Nice scores!

I also did not like Achiever

Could you please explain what you mean by: I found the test PAT (esp the hole punching) to be inconsistent between questions, but that could just be me.

Howd you do so well in GC? Whatd/Howd you study?
Thanks

Specifically the diameter of the holes seemed to vary between questions while the size of the paper remained constant. Also on at least half of the hole-punch questions it looked as if the hole was directly between two of the possible rows. In addition, the size of the paper was a lot smaller than on Crack. I don't know if this was just because I was so familiar with the Crack software or if my version was just kinda messed up but regardless I would recommend using a variety of software just to be sure you're familiar with all the different variations that are possible.

In regards to the chemistry, I was doing so poorly on the Achiever that I got Barron's AP Chem review and read the whole thing and did most of the practice problems. At the time I didn't think it was really helping me all that much, but it looked like it paid off overall.

solid scores you should be set! congrats again best of luck applying ........what did you find the most helpful in terms of your resources?

So the only resources you used for Chem was AP Barrons Chem and for Bio you only used AP Barrons Bio?
Thanks

UT Memphis likes Rhodes students... And we also have a good reputation with Louisville. MUSC and UNC are extremely tough out of state, even with great numbers, which you have. I would add another school or two, like Nova and Louisville. And UT Memphis if you want to do the separate application.

For Chem I used Barron's AP review but for Bio I used Cliff Notes' AP review. I really liked the Cliff Notes Bio so I looked for it in Chemistry but could only find Barron's so I went with that. It turned out to be pretty good, it's quite a thick book and goes into pretty good depth for the simpler subjects. It tends to leave out some of the more advanced topics though. I also used Chad's videos for both G. Chem and Orgo and was really impressed.

Overall I'd say the best bang for your buck was the Cliff Notes AP Bio, while it could use some more pictures/diagrams, I felt like it was pretty comprehensive. Supplementing that with a Bio or Anatomy and Physiology textbook should be all you need for the Biology section.

FutureDent 020 I take it you're a Rhodes Alum? I'm definitely going to consider adding a few more schools just to give myself some more options. I don't think I'll add UT though, I'm about ready to get out of Memphis. I know UNC has a pretty tough reputation for OSS but I didn't realize MUSC was also a tough one. Right not I'm really leaning towards UoP. What do you think my chances are there?
