its finally over.... good god.

P.A 19 (70%)
Q.R 21 (95%)
R.C 22 (95%)
Bio 24 (99.8%)
G.C 25 (99%)
O.C 25 (99%)
T.S 25 (99.9%)
A.A 23 (99.8%)

I was completely devestated in the days leading up to the test because I was scoring 17's across the board on DAT achiever. Topscore was easier than Achiever but harder than the real test. Im just happy this crap is over and I can lilve again. Also, I was scoring 22s on CDP for the final eight tests, but I found the pattern folding substantially harder and the TFE/ keyholes slightly harder.

Ill be applying today with a 3.65 and a few years of work experience. My advise: study your ass off,... then study some more. But dont be scared off by achiever and destroyer (awesome product). The DAT is a breeze compared to these 2. Also, achiever just pissed me off, and made my last week horrible (it did NOT make me want to study more) while decimating my confidence. Buy it at your own peril. I suggest you dont.

Ill be more thorough in a few days. Good luck.

EDIT: The first 3 achiever tests are good practice, with do-able questions. I got mostly 21s on those. It is the last 2 that made me want to scalp myself. Dont even look at those.

Congrats on the scores! Must feel great to be done!

I have been using destroyer. Do you definitely recommend also buying Top Score?
How would you say destroyer compares in G. Chem to the real DAT?

topscore is legit for every section besides PAT. I generally scored 28 O.chem, 21, gchem, 20 bio for the 3 topscore tests. And the RC/QR were very similar.

Destroyer G.Chem is solid. Just know your **** before you go through the book. I think i went over destroyer about 4 times total. I learned the problems step-by-step. On a scale of 1 (easiest) to 10 (hardest), ... destroyer would be an 8, whereas the DAT would be a 5. Regardless, if you already decent, it will really help. Also, barrons bio was awesome. I did Destroyer after reading through barrons bio, the kaplan book, the kaplan subject tests.

Niceee!!!

Those are exactly the scores I want to see pop up on my screen in a month and a half. You're in excellent shape

Also, glad I went with TopScore...I was worried it'd be "too easy" as opposed to Achiever being "too hard"

awesome job! haha now go enjoy the rest of your summer!
I'm looking forward to seeing your breakdown.
I hope I can do as well as you when I take it in August.

haha im going to go have a killer week off, and then go back to work.

I know its awful to say after the fact (especially because I HATED hearing this in the days leading up to the test), but just relax, try not to sweat it, and dont worry about the pressure. No one ever got ahead by psyching themselves out. Also, work your ass off, there is no real substitute for that. But if you do work that hard, then go to the prometric center with total confidence, because you'll do fine. Coincidentally, I hated hearing that last line more than anything,.. i thought to myself, "Hey, how the hell do you know how im going to do!?!, just shut up and let me get through this damn test!!" But for real, effort pays off.

Oh, good!! I just did Achiever #4 science section, and was so discouraged.

thanks for the notation about the last two test. i was about to slit my wrist thinking that the actual DAT is going to be slightly easierer than those last two achiever exams

23AA and 25TS? Please consider a retake before posting such low scores

Great job man 👍

is the kaplan subject tests for QR and GC similar to what is expected on the DAT? QR subject tests is definitely is tougher than destroyer IMO...

About to leave to get sloshed for game 1, but before I go...

The Kaplan subject tests are definitely harder. But Gen. Chem subject tests are great practice. I did not time myself for the Kap. Prac. tests, I just learned from the problems and broke them down step by step. Then I did them again to cement the steps in my head cause(overkill, much like destoryer was... but too much studying never hurt) I didnt crack open a text besides barrons and the KBB. I just learned by breaking down problems/ Wiki.

I was surprised that a lot of the stuff that I worked pretty hard on (nast calculations with molarity/ksp/a lot of what chad covered) barely showed up on the test.

the QR subject tests were awful. I just didnt like them.

Thanks a lot for the kind words everyone. I'm hoping to get into UOP (with cash) , Stony, or Buffalo. These may be the only schools I apply to. Bad idea? Any thought on where I could apply as a safety?

Nice scores... Congrats.... i completly agree on how you must be feeling after hearing all those encouraging word... i was feeling the same reading your post..😉

I do understand what you mean.. its just a matter of convincing myself to think the same...and be cool and confident..

By breaking a problem down step by step, i mean thinking through the the problem logically, but in increments. For ksp (which I was not tested on) of MgCl2, realize and understand why the ksp will = 4x to the 3rd. Realize that when you are given a certain independent concentration of MgX2, that you will still need to square the conc of Cl in order to get the right the answer. Again, this is all overkill, I studied about 3 (out of 4) months too long for this test. Just doing the Kap subjest tests and understanding them should be sufficient. BUT!!!!!! again, too much studying is never bad. If you have time, overkill away.

great score! Shouldn't they give you a higher score than a 23AA if you scored in a 99.8 % ?

I was thinking the same thing. But I guess a 23 was the 99.8 percentile on my test. So, if someone has an easier test, and a 23 is 94th percentile, I am thinking that they will be viewed exactly like myself, because percentiles are not sent to the school! Damn.

inspiring scores, good job 🙂

i just started studyin for the dat's and as far as PAT goes, I am terribly bad at the TFE and keyhole parts, any suggestions on them? besides obviously rigorous amounts of practice 🙂
