I am SO HAPPY to be done!!! I know my scores aren't all that and a bag of chips compared to some of the scores on here, but I am still so happy I had to take a picture!! I was gonna try to keep this short, but hell that's not happening!
1. I could not have done this without the SDN community! Before I started browsing these forums, I was under the impression that a 20 was a good score (which it is!) and also what I should be aiming for, but after seeing some of y'alls breakdowns I was really inspired to push my self harder and aim higher! So, I really thank all of you who have done this before me, for inspiring me (especially IronJeff - I have his breakdown bookmarked, lol), and also to those who helped me with questions on here!
BREAKDOWN:
PAT: 21CDP, Predds (free things available), Chad's Angle Ranking, Acheiver
I was most worried about PAT because my scores were all over the place on CDP. I had an easy PAT compared to what most people have been saying. I thought all the sections were easier than CDP. Patter folding had some odd folds but this is usually my best section, so I was able to manage. I was able to line count on TFE (you have to line count visible vs invisible and it works!), angles were very do-able, helps to lean back away from the screen, you will be amazed at how much that helps! I really recommend CDP, all others are too hard compared to the real thing, but that doesn't mean they didn't help!
CDP: 18 & 21, 20, 18 & 21, 19, 19
RC 22Dat Qvault, ADA 09
I read a few questions then read a few paragraphs, answered what I could, read more, repeat. Time yourself to 10 minutes of reading per passage and 10 minutes for question (wont need that long).. timing is key for this. My DAT RC was easier than all the practice ones I did. I had 12 paragraphs for the longest section, 10 for the shortest! Passages were easy to understand, Passages were about hurricanes, GI bacteria, and the third one... it was something with pauli exclusion principle and particle chemistry, but not too bad to get through!
QVAULT: 21, 24, 19, 21
QR 20 MATH Destroyer, Qvault, Chad
QR was hard!!!!! (and I had to pee the entire time 😱) I averaged 18s on destroyer and 22s on qvault, and a 20 on the real thing, which tells you qvault was too easy and destroyer too hard. Destroyer taught me how to do all the tough problems though, chad is good to get started, but very basic!!
Destroyer: All 18s except one 22 (only did test 1-10)
Qvault: 20, 21, 18, 21, 20, 19, 22, 22, 22, 21
BIO 24Cliffs AP BIO, Destroyer, MCAT Audio Osmosis, Dat qvault, Alan's Notes, some KBB
The test was so easy, I kind of laughed half way through it at the extent of detail I made myself memorize. I didn't think it was random, but some of the wording was tricky!
I am a bio major so I know bio well, cliffs was awesome, it helps you understand! KBB sucks, there's better resources I dont recommend it. Audio osmosis helped me a lot, if you can get a pre med buddy to let you use theirs, I really recommend it! DAT qvault was money!! I had a lot of exact questions as qvault. Destroyer was overkill compared to the questions I had, but I wont say I wasted my time with destroyer. Oh and def go over Alan's notes AFTER reading cliffs, but do go over them!
Qvault (did twice): 19, 18, 17, 19, 19, 18, 16, 18, 17, 21
20, 22, 21, X, 22, 20, 20, X, 18, X
CHEM 20 Chad, Destroyer, Qvault
Idk what happened here, I thought I knew it all except for one question that I spent forever on, but I'll take anything in the 20s. Listen to everything chad says, I mean everything! I had a question about the meniscus of a graduated cylinder, I remember chad talked about it but I remember tuning him out, literally everything he goes over is important!! He knows how they test, and what they ask.
Qvault: 18, 17, 19, 20, 18, 19, 20, 20, 20, 18
OCHEM 23 Chad, Destroyer, Qvault
Destroyer and Chad are again, the winning combo. Qvault helped me keep in check as far as where I was in my studying. I had a question about Tollen's (glad I went over it) even though I've heard other people say it didn't show up on their DAT, it did on mine so go over everything!
Qvault: 17, 19, 18, 20, 17, 18, 18, 22, 20, 20
Practice Tests:
Acheiver 1: BIO 18/ GC 16/ OC 18/ PAT 17
Acheiver 2: BIO 16/ GC 14/ OC 19/ PAT 17
Topscore: BIO 19 GC 20 OC 19 PAT 20 RC X QR 22 TS 20
ADA 07: BIO 26 GC 23 OC 28 PAT 20 RC 23 QR 22 AA 24 TS 25
ADA 09: BIO 24 GC 24 OC 22 PAT X RC 19 QR X TS 23
OAT: BIO 380 GC 370 OC 390
Lastly, do as many practice tests and practice questions as you can, that is the key to doing well!
Also, something I did that helped me a lot was that I bought a one subject spiral and called it the '**** you need to remember book' and I wrote notes of everything down I was missing in practice questions, having a hard time remembering. (ex. tollen's, o,p directors, hardy weinberg, photosyntheis, periodic table trends) and went over it all a few times the week of the test! This helped tremendously in reinforcing things my brain did not want to remember.
Good luck to everyone studying! YOU CAN DO ITTT!!
I am selling everything pm me if you are interested, except qvault - already sold!
