Damn just finished typing in my whole post and it cleared me out. LOL

PAT - 19
QR - 18
RC - 20
GC - 24
ORGO - 22
BIO - 19
AA - 21
TS - 21

I used Destroyer, Kaplan BB, Schaums, Crack Dat PAT, Achiever and Topscore. I found destroyer to be the most useful. I studied since early June and have been hard at it since.

RC - I had a ton of tone based questions. This section was probably the most stressing for me. I found the passages to be somewhat interesting.

PAT - I averaged around a 22 on Crack so this score was definitely a let down. I had a hard time focusing on some of the images but I still thought I did better. The angles seemed to not be a big deal though.

I have a 4.0 science and overall gpa. I have no instate schools, so I will be applying to 15 out of state schools and I would be thrilled to get into anyone of them!! I would love to hear anyones comments or questions 🙂

Finally a bit of summer👍👍👍

Thanks for the kind words. If I have any one piece of advice, it is to not let any question or section discourage you. It is hard not to freak out while taking the test, especially during the reading test when it seems like a majority of the questions are tone based when your doing the search and destroy! LOL
I think I would do the RC different if I were to take it again and try to map out each paragraphy by reading the first sentence and maybe the last sentence. Another odd thing that scared me every time it went off was when the computer would give you a 15 or 5 minute warning. It feels like the section was ending each time and I was put into shock. It seems stupid now, but I was not expecting this.

As an out of state applicant are these scores competitve? I am fortunate to be a WICHE state member but I am not sure how much of a benefit it may be.

With a 4.0 GPA, all you need is an 18 I bet. Your DAT scores are amazing! Good luck on everything else!

great scores and impressive gpa! i know everyone whose taken the dats say the biology section is pretty much random. so my question is, are the biology questions rather specific or just general random questions?
thanks enjoy your summer!!

Biology
I only felt like a couple questions came completely out of nowhere in the Biology section. The others were mostly straightforward. The questions that were difficult had confusing answers and some had confusing images. I think if you are looking to get around 18-20, knowing Destroyer (like the back of your hand) and having a grasp on Kaplan BB are plenty good. Getting above this in the 21-24 range takes a greater knowledge that requires major college courses or different study materials that I didn't have. I found Schaums to be of little use and I can't recall a specific question where I was thinking "Man I'm glad I read that book" like I felt about destroyer.

Crack DAT MATH - This program was very usefull in developing my speed math skills. In the real DAT I thought I had this section down and I finished with 5 minutes to spare. I obviously made some very stupid mistakes. There were a few problems that I didn't have the knowledge and made a guess on as well. I think Destroyer Math actually covered it pretty well. The problems are quite similar to Destroyer Math and Crack DAT MATH, except in the real DAT setting it seems different because of all of the nerves and the fact that you have already been subjected to 3.5 hours of testing.

Achiever and Topscore These 2 programs are perfect for getting the real testing experience. I seemed the DAT was a difficulty between that of topscore and Achiever. In the real DAT there are little to no calculations involving complex numbers. I wouldn't say it is completely conceptual, and I would be very familiar with rotating your formulas around to find the correct answer. (knowing what is multiplied over what) It still helps to use these programs and get every problem down though. I averaged around 19-20 on Topscore and 18-20 on achiever. The RC on these test are nothing like what was on my DAT test. My RC was filled with tone questions that were a major pain in the neck. My advice in reading is to fill these babys in and keep on moving on to the plunk and dunk type of questions. Keep your head up in the RC and answer the easy questions. If you do your score will reflect it.

CRACK DAT PAT This program is great. It is a very realistic representation of the real deal. I found the angles in my test to be very similar to Cracks, but my apperature passing to be harder. My observations seem to contradict most others observations. Maybe it was just me. I found the TFE to be easier than Cracks. I did however think the pattern folding on the DAT was more difficult and confusing that Crack DAT PAT.
