Just got back from the test and I'm pretty ecstatic, I did way better than I thought I would.
Perceptual Ability: 22 - 93.4 percentile
Quantitative Reasoning: 26 - 99.6 percentile
Reading Comprehension: 20 - 64.3 percentile
Biology: 24 - 98.9 percentile
General Chemistry: 22 - 91.8 percentile
Organic Chemistry: 21 - 85.7 percentile
Total Science: 22 - 95.6 percentile
Academic Average: 23 - 98.7 percentile
For studying, I used datqvault bio, Kaplan BB, Cliff's AP Bio, CDP, Chad's videos, DAT Destroyer, Math Destroyer, and the 5 test Achiever. I only took 4 achiever tests and only took the natural sciences parts of them, but usually scored around 17 on them. I actually got a 15 on each of the sections on the 4th test a week before my real DAT but I took it really tired. PAT was similar in difficulty to CDP, I usually scored a 21/22 on those.
Going in to it I knew math was my strong suit and felt really comfortable with Math Destroyer but never expected a 26. Almost all the questions were cake except a couple which I had to guess. I actually thought bio was the weakest of my sciences, even though I'm a bio major, so I'm really happy with my score there. Reading comprehension was really my only thing I didn't study, I did the 2007 ada practice and kaplan book tests, just to help me decide on whether I wanted to use S&D or not, and I decided not to. Just read the passages and wrote down a couple of keywords that corresponded to each paragraph.
I have a 3.45 oGPA and 3.47 sGPA so this is even sweeter because I really felt that I needed to kill the DAT because of my weak GPA. I've also good decent shadowing/extracurriculars, no research experience.
I'm applying to Maryland, Tufts, Temple, VCU, Boston, NYU, Pitt, and Lecom. Do you guys think I've got a good shot? Hoping for UMD b/c of instate tuition.
Anyways, I just wanted to let you guys know that hard work does pay off! I've been studying since about the beginning of June and am finally ready to enjoy the rest of my summer.
