Just completed my DAT this afternoon. Overall pretty happy, just a small fumble.

PAT: 20 (81%)
QR: 16 (65%) 😡
RC: 20 (79%)
Bio: 19 (84%)
GC: 22 (96%)
OC: 21 (90%)
TS: 20 (92%)
AA: 20 (93%)

Study Materials:

GC/OC: Chads, Destroyer, DAT Bootcamp
Bio: Chads, Cliffs AP, Destroyer, DAT Bootcamp
QR: Chads, Math destroyer
PAT: CDP, DAT Bootcamp
RC: DAT Bootcamp

Test itself:

GC: Straight-forward questions. Chad's videos are absolutely necessary. His quizzes are on point. Destroyer was way too over the top but I felt gave me a strong understanding. DAT Bootcamp was exactly on point for difficulty/question structure. I actually thought that I did better than this, must have made a bad mistake or two.

OC: Chads again were perfect. Destroyer was good to go over so I knew more than necessary. DAT Bootcamp was dead on also. Had no crazy reactions. I think I missed some of the conceptual type question because I knew all the reactions.

BIO: This is my weakest subject. Chads was alright. Cliffs helped fill in the gaps. I just think you need to have a solid background of classes taking in college to know the random questions.

RC: I read the passage and put down keywords. I didn't take any practice tests for it.

QR: I'm surprised I did this bad. I knew my head hurt at this point but jeez. Bummed about this one. The first 6 test of math destroyer are pretty good on difficulty. After that its harder than test.

PAT: CDP isn't that far off in difficulty. Keyholes are more about proportions than anything else. TFE was a tad bit harder than CDP but nothing too extreme. DAT Bootcamp TFE got too hard towards the end. Angles aren't too bad.Hole punch was straight forward. Cube counting was easy shapes, with not many cubes. Pattern folding wasn't very hard. I know I missed most of mine on TFE, Keyhole and angles because I'm pretty certain I got the majority of the last three right.

Overall Impression of what study materials needed:

Chads for OC/GC.
Cliffs AP for BIO
Destroyer to make you really work so that the test will be easier
DAT Bootcamp when you are ready to take practice tests.

My GPA is 3.08 and sGPa is 3.38. I'm worried about my QR but application is in for this cycle. Hoping for a Texas school since I am a resident. If not, hoping for one of the lower GPA schools.

Congrats....those are good scores. I wouldn't worry to much about QR. Everything else is on par and above avg for acceptance. Good Luck this cycle.

Not to be a downer, but the GPA is not above average for acceptance. It could be better, but that can't be changed right now...

You are right but I believe he is just talking about the DAT scores. I know my GPA is low. I'm going to apply and call admin offices of schools I really want and see what they say I should be doing in the meantime.

Nice scores! I am hoping for similar (minus the QR, I got a 16 the first time I took it so it AT LEAST has to go somewhere). At what point did you feel that you had studied enough and was prepared? I am taking my test in a few weeks and feel like I have gone over everything extensively, but I still feel apprehensive/nervous/etc. about it.

I agree with you 100%. I think they should definitely do a masters but that's up to them. I was just saying their DAT score is good though.

Hey man how did you do on your practice tests if you don't mind me asking?

do you feel the math destroyer was representative of the actual test? like the type of word problems etc?

At the 6 week mark I felt that I was ready to take it. I got tired of studying after that. If you feel confident, I would just go take it. It's really not as hard as you are building up to be in your head.

DAT bootcamp was a good representation of my scores. I was scoring between 19-21 on those. On the QR section I was scoring between 17-19. The questions on it were worded about the same also. Was a good $90 spent the week before the test.

How long did you study for and for how many hours a day?

Good job. I don't think your 16 will hurt you.
