Just got back from Prometric center
Here's What I have !!
Not so great score to scan and post, but since I am happy, I did IT !!
PAT - ehh
QR - ehh
RC - Pianoed. ( 2 others were aspirin and cell communication)
Bio - YAY
Gen Chem - YAY
O-Chem - thought it was my strongest =( but still yay
TS - YAY
AA - I guess YAY
22 isn't great compared to SDNers here and this is like a baby score compared to l sfoksn, Rlow, gigawatt or any others who scored 23+, but I am pretty happy with mine.
Here's Break Down.
Materials I used for Bio : Kaplan whitebook, Cliffs AP, Barrons AP, campbell AP studyguide, Campbell Textbook, destroyer, wikipedia + random online stuff I could find online by googling.
Materials I used for G-Chem,O-Chem : Kaplan Whitebook, destroyer, ACS guide for both o and g-chem, and AP Chemistry from Peterson.
Materials used for PAT: Kaplan bluebook
Materials used for Math: Destroyer, Kaplan whitebook. one Crack Math from friends computer.
RC - None. My english isn't good. Boring passages make me sick.
No topscore, or achiever. I was planning to use them, but for personal matters, I couldn't study for about a week and a half prior to DAT test date. And Im sure I read it someone's post, but samething happened to me.
I drank a cup of coffee, and while I was taking the natural science, I had to go pee really bad. When I was finished with the science, I clicked the ok button and PAT started right after. OMG
but anyways,, other than that, it was ok.
Bio- Easy, but lots of random ones. Like weird plant names I never heard of.And a weird figure of a structure of some part of plant. (figure, not photo) And few less frequently used vocabs. I don't know if I should mention it here. Am I allowed? they were all from the bold words from AP campbell bio studyguide though.
AP campbell bio studyguides was a good book.
Other than those 2 weird plant questions, other ones were all straight forward. But concepts tested are so broad and random. Be familliar with all concepts in those 3 AP books.
Barrons, cliffs and AP campbell SG all had their own good sides. Study from them. I also solved all of the end of the chapter problems from campbell bio book. using those four books, campbell textbooks being the last choice. Only go through campbell text and see figures if you have time.
G-Chem - Easy. Concepts you get tested on is limited. One problem about comparing which has the most unpaired electrons. I forgot which element it was, but I could never find it on the periodic table. I was searching and searching and searching for about three min. I still couldn't find it, and had to pray that wasn't the answer. Know all your equipments used for different experiments. I underestimated this, and I think I got this question wrong. I won't mention but it asked when you are doing this certain experiment, which equipment is best. I had to totally guess. I did not have a clue about that experiment being done.
But other than those two, it was easy and same same same concepts that you would encounter in your practice problems.
O-Chem -I got two wrong out of seventy questions on my ACS O-chem final, and I was most confident here. Questions seemed easy. I don't know what happened. I had twenty min left when I endered O-chem section. =( I did not do a good job managing my time. ) Know basics, aldol condensations came up. Oxidation, reduction, aromatic substitution, aromaticity, diels elder sn1 sn2 e1 e2 and concept questions from those, and all that familiar stuffs you guys know. Just Try to relax and NOT MAKE MISTAKES. even if you chose an answer, look at other choices too, there might be a better choice. Like you choose aldol product, and hit next w/o seeing condensed aldol product which is a better answer when you add heat.
PAT - all Angles look so darn same.
Reading - I was on my fifteen min break. I prayed not to get Piano passage. ZOMG I got ONE. it was my first passage. I went straight to my
nd passage. well first of all, english is my second language, and I suck at reading anyways. I kind of expected this score. piano wasn't that bad. Just lots of,
tone questions. And for all three passages including piano, I got this type of questions alot.
how would you conclude the passage. They give two statements. is both true? or first one true, second false kind of things. well whatever
QR -Reading those passages made me sick and tired. I almost went in to the monitor reading those passages. QR, please know your unit conversions. I didn't. Some question, they gave unit conversion, but for some question they didn't. I had 11 questions left when five min left warning thing popped up. So I was slow.
I had to guess on like last seven questions becuz of time.
Score was kind of expected, I studied most on Science, and didn't do alot in others.
If I could go back to five days before the test, I would just do math problems all day to get the speed up.
It is not the level of difficulty, it is about if you can solve it quick enough.
Thanks guys =)
GPA - 3.89 [Bio Major]
applying to 11 schools like UMB, temple, Upenn, NYU , BU, Tufts etc etc.
Thanks to Sfoksn for boosting my confidence and cheering up and comments when I was really down.
Thank you guys =) GOOD luck those who is taking soon !!
p.s. sorry about my english !! =)
