I literally NEVER thought I would do this breakdown. It's not going to be too long, I just want to show the more average student reading these forums that it is possible to do well.

BIO - 22
GC - 18
OC - 20
QR - 20
RC - 21
PAT - 18
TS - 20
AA - 20

Okay so I have been reading all these forums on SDN and I would get myself totally freaked out seeing all these crazy high scores. I thought I was going to do terribly based on all these insanely brilliant people getting 24s. I'm not trying to be rude to those people at all, but that's not me. I don't have the attention span to sit down and study all day, every day for months. My biggest advice to everyone is try not to freak out too much and try as hard as you can to still have a life! I know it's difficult to convince yourself that you can take breaks and hang out with friends, but it's worth it. I know that I needed that time to myself to relax and it helped me with studying the next day.

I took the Kaplan course, used Cliff's AP Bio, Alan's bio notes, DAT Destroyer, Math Destroyer, Crack DAT PAT and Topscore. I would say I was prepared, I was just confused about my PAT score because I was scoring around 20-23 on CDP but I only got an 18. It may have had something to do with the fact that my laptop crashed 4 days before my exam, so I couldn't use my CDP or Topscore (things happen, don't freak out!!) but regardless I was still happy.

Some people may not think my scores are amazing, but I couldn't be happier. Anyways, good luck to you all and I hope someone will see this and breathe a sigh of relief knowing that you don't need a 22 or above to be happy 😀 Please don't hesitate to ask any questions, I want to help anyone I can!!!

:biglove:

I'm hoping to get scores like this. Don't fret. You did very well. Take a deep breath. It's over! Now go relax.

I want your scores! I am just like you, I have been studying for the DAT and I can not sit for 8 hrs a day for 2 months and just study. Your scores are awesome I am not the best on bio what were the questions like compared to the study material you use. I am using the same stuff as you.

i want those types of scores, i took DAT last year but im retaking

I agree with OP, on CDP i am a beast i get 22+ on all 10 exams, but got 18 on real one

lol so i just got Achiever since their PAT is harder

u got BIo score of 22, nice. Was ur bio section harder than the OAT sample test bio questions. i was wondering if u can read over some of the OAT questions and tell me if that is harder

I was consecutively getting 17s on all the Topscore Bio sections. I felt that there were WAY too many phylum/taxonomy questions on Topscore. I think I had one or two on the actual test. I really just focused on knowing the big sections of Bio (I outlined the Kaplan book used in class, not the giant book) and went over those several times the week of my test. It helped so so much. I think you will do great 🙂

Yeah, I can check out the OAT questions...do you have a link to it? I can't seem to find it. My brain is basically mush now

Thank you

i practiced this yesterday and got a score of 18 on BIO

Several of those questions seem very similar to questions I was asked, but many of them are much more detailed. I would say it seems harder than what I personally experienced on the real test. The real DAT was not very specific for biology. It was more focused on the big topics and if you have those down, you should do great!

I think your scores are well rounded and AMAZING!! Look at the scoring scheme of DAT and you will be convinced~ Congratz and good luck this cycle!

Great job. Your scores simply prove that if there is a will, there is a way. Congratulations.

Great job. +1 to not needing to study 8 hours a day to do well on this test.

Haha I tried doing that in the beginning of my studying and I left the library nearly in tears every time. That lasted a few days before I realized it wasn't worth the headache!

You are my hero! I am like you. can't study all day everyday. I hope I do as well as you. Awesome job!

Great scores! How long did you study for

I find myself running away when I have to crack open those damn books

Trust me, I was the same way in the beginning. I hated every minute and I was a miserable person for a while haha. But once I set the date of the test, it all of a sudden seemed so real to me and I kicked it into high gear. Whenever I wasn't studying I felt like I should have been. But I forced myself to take breaks (and my mom forced me once when I had a freakout haha).

I usually studied in shorter increments, about 2 hours and then I would move locations to a different spot in the library and study a different subject. Mixing it up like that was very helpful so I didn't get too bored. I studied for about 2 months. I was also working as a tour guide on my campus and as a dental assistant at a local dental practice during the 2 months, but not very often, since they knew I was studying.

I almost pushed my test back after I took my first topscore test, but I just pushed myself and when it came down to it, I was totally ready to take the test and I didn't want to study at all anymore. I really think each person is a little different, but you will know when it's time to put the books down.

Thank you everyone for such kind responses. My main goal was really to show that I'm not some crazy genius person and it is feasible for anyone to do well! Set your mind to it and do it 🙂

We have very similar scores! I got a 20 AA, 21TS and 18PAT. I was also scoring 20+ on CDP and was very sad about my real score. Congrats though! I hope we both get in somewhere
